    • Rengifo comes off bench day after wrist injury
Luis Rengifo came off the bench and struck out as a pinch-hitter Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: He then remained in to play two innings at third base. Rengifo didn’t start because of a wrist injury suffered Sunday, but it seems like he’ll be fine. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:01 pm

    • Smacks 12th home run
De La Cruz went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Monday's 7-6 loss versus the Cardinals.

Advice: The 27-year-old's only hit in this game was a big one as he tied the score at 4-4 with a three-run blast off JoJo Romero in the eighth. De La Cruz is already up to 12 homers in 2024 after he totaled 19 long balls in 153 games last year. The power production helps offset De La Cruz's underwhelming .242/.295/.416 slash line. • Solid effort ends in no-decision
Gray allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over 7.2 innings in Monday's 7-6 win versus the Marlins. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

Advice: Gray pitched into the eighth inning for the first time this season and left the game up 4-1, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. The four strikeouts were a season low for Gray as he worked fast and efficiently, only needing 84 pitches to record 23 outs. The veteran's ERA now sits at 2.95 with a 1.02 WHIP through 13 starts. • Sonny Gray goes 7 2/3 in no-decision vs. Marlins
Sonny Gray allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Gray was long gone before this one was decided in a 12-inning marathon, but he managed to complete seven frames for the second consecutive start. He struck out four and only issued two walks. The 34-year-old righty has been excellent this season in his St. Louis debut, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 13 starts so far. He’ll bring a solid 2.95 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 95/22 K/BB ratio across 76 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Giants. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm

    • Albies hits game-winning home run Monday
Ozzie Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Albies’ fifth of the season. His blast off Shelby Miller with two outs in the eighth inning was the difference in the 2-1 victory for Atlanta. Albies’ ISO is now .140 on the season, which is a far cry from the .233 ISO he had last year when he hit 33 home runs in 148 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

    • Out of lineup but available
Rengifo (wrist) is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Brewers, Michael Huntley of The Sporting Tribune reports.

Advice: Rengifo exited Sunday's loss to the Giants with a left wrist contusion as a result of a hit by pitch. The super utility player said he'll be available off the bench Monday, so it would seem he'll have a good shot to return to the lineup Tuesday. Luis Guillorme is handling third base in Rengifo's stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Luis Rengifo (wrist) held out of starting lineup
Luis Rengifo is out of Monday’s lineup with a wrist contusion, though he thinks he could play if needed.

Advice: Rengifo was hurt while falling down in trying to make a play at third base yesterday. Luis Guillorme is starting at third base tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:54 pm

    • Slated to throw this week
Musgrove (elbow) is expected to play catch Wednesday or Thursday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: This will be the first time Musgrove has thrown since he went on the injured list June 1 due to a bone spur in his right elbow. The right-hander acknowledged that his new slider may have contributed to the issue and indicated Saturday that he is considering how to alter either the grip or his wrist action on the pitch. Musgrove also shared that he is working to change the landing on his delivery in order to reduce the stress on his arm, saying, "I do think that that delivery, like the release point and like how it's coming out of my hand right now, now that it's aggravated, I've got to try to make some kind of adjustment to not re-aggravate it without having months of rest time and let it calm down. I gotta find a way to adjust." There's still a possibility that the veteran hurler will need surgery to remove the bone spur, but even if he avoids that scenario, he probably won't be ready to rejoin the Padres until late July. • Too much traffic in loss
Stroman (6-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Red Sox.

Advice: In addition to allowing 11 baserunners, Stroman was also on the mound for six of the Red Sox's franchise-best nine steals in the contest. Stroman has had two bad outings and one good one through three starts in June, though Sunday marked his first loss since May 9. The right-hander has maintained a 3.08 ERA despite a 1.30 WHIP and 61:38 K:BB over 84.2 innings through 15 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus Atlanta in his next outing.
