    • Making another rehab start
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Buehler (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday before potentially joining the Dodgers.

Advice: The right-hander threw 86 pitches and allowed five runs (three earned) over 4.1 innings Wednesday for Oklahoma City, and the Dodgers don't feel he's quite ready to make his 2024 debut. Buehler's performance in five starts during the rehab assignment has been underwhelming with a 4.86 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB over 16.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 1:30 pm
    • Sent back to Triple-A
The Orioles optioned Holliday to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Advice: The top prospect made his big-league debut April 10 in Boston to much fanfare, but he looked entirely overmatched at the plate in his first couple weeks of MLB action. Holliday went 2-for-34 with two walks, five runs and 18 strikeouts in 10 games, so the Orioles opted to return him to Norfolk. The 20-year-old could rejoin Baltimore for another look later in the season, but for now he'll head back to Triple-A, where he posted a 1.077 OPS in 56 plate appearances to start the year. • Orioles option Jackson Holliday to Triple-A
Orioles optioned Jackson Holliday to Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: There was a ton of excitement for Baltimore’s top prospect to join the major league. However, the 20-year-old got off to a really cold start and the team is making the decision to send him back to the minors. Holliday had an excellent spring training, but that didn’t correlate to the regular season where he had just two hits in his 36 plate appearances in his 10 games with the Orioles. Baseball is a tough sport and sometimes hitting the reset button is the best option for a struggling young player. Rotoworld Today, 10:22 am

    • Goes yard, scores three times
Contreras went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, three runs scored and a stolen base while also drawing a walk in Thursday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras launched a solo homer off Mitch Keller in the top of the first inning to give Milwaukee an early lead and came around to score the team's third run on a Rhys Hoskins single in the third. He then added a single in the fifth frame before going on to steal his second base of the season. The catcher scored three runs in the contest, a mark he's hit three times already this season, while also recording multiple hits for the second consecutive game. Contreras is batting .373 (31-for-83) in April with five homers, 20 RBI and 21 runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:01 am
    • Goes four-plus in rehab start
Buehler (elbow) was charged with five runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over four-plus innings in a rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Buehler's line wasn't pretty, but it bears mentioning that he was pitching at high altitude in Albuquerque, so the results were mostly secondary to how he felt physically during the outing. He got his pitch count up to 86 and averaged 94.1 miles per hour with his four-seamer, which is down 1.1 mph from what he averaged during the 2022 season prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery. Buehler has now made five rehab starts, and it's possible that he could return from the 15-day injured list to make his next outing with the Dodgers. If he's activated during the upcoming week, the earliest his season debut would come would be Tuesday on the road versus the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:35 pm
    • Takes seat against southpaw
Muncy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With the Dodgers and Nationals concluding their series with a day game after a night game and with southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Washington, Muncy is one of three lefty-hitting regulars who will get the afternoon off. Muncy will be joined on the bench by Gavin Lux and James Outman. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am

    • Gets rest Thursday
Jansen is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Jansen will get a breather for the day game after he caught eight innings of Wednesday's 3-2 loss while going 1-for-3 with a walk. Alejandro Kirk gets the nod behind the dish for Toronto in the series finale in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:11 am

    • Notches seventh save
Kimbrel picked up the save against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Kimbrel surrendered a leadoff single to Ehire Adrianza to open the bottom of the ninth, who then advanced to third on a throwing error by Jorge Mateo. This would lead to a run coming home for Los Angeles in the frame on a groundout to make it a 6-5 game, though Kimbrel was able to retire two of the next three batters to nail down his seventh save of the season. The veteran reliever has now converted each of his last seven save attempts after blowing the save to open the campaign, but he's also allowed a hit and a walk in each of his last two appearances. • Paul Skenes dominates again Wednesday at Triple-A
Pirates RHP prospect Paul Skenes struck out seven and was charged with two runs (one earned) over 4 1/3 innings on Wednesday for Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Skenes finally gave up an earned run, which sent his ERA soaring to an astronomical 0.53 in the process. The 21-year-old top pitching prospect built up his workload to 71 pitches (50 strikes) and continues to flash triple-digit velocity with ease. It’s difficult to understand Pittsburgh’s rationale at this juncture behind having him continue building volume in the minor leagues instead of contributing in the major leagues. Regardless of when the Pirates finally decide to call him up, Skenes appears poised to make a significant impact for fantasy managers and should be rostered in all formats.
