    • Slugs third homer
Jansen went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Royals.

Advice: He spoiled Seth Lugo's shutout bid in the seventh inning, but it was the only bright spot on the day for the Toronto offense. Jansen has three homers since making his season debut April 16, all solo shots, but they've all come in his last four starts. The 29-year-old catcher has gone 8-for-30 (.267) in 10 games, but six of those hits have gone for extra bases including three doubles. Rotowire.com Today, 5:42 am

    • Making season debut Monday
Buehler (elbow) will start Monday's game against the Marlins, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Monday will mark Buehler's first start on a big-league mound since he underwent Tommy John surgery in August 2022. He made six starts during his minor-league rehab assignment, posting a 4.15 ERA and 1.62 WHIP while striking out 21 batters and walking nine across 21.2 innings. Nearly two years removed from his last major-league start, there is a good chance that the 29-year-old right-hander shows a bit of rust in his first few outings as he gets used to facing MLB hitters again. • Another lefty pitcher
Muncy is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The third baseman got the start Monday versus Arizona's lefty pitcher Tommy Henry in the first game of the series, but Muncy will begin in the dugout Wednesday for the second straight game against southpaw Jordan Montgomery. Enrique Hernandez will get the start at third and bat fifth in the series finale. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:05 pm

    • Availability still in question
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said he's not sure whether Kimbrel (back) will be available to pitch Wednesday versus the Yankees, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Hyde said something similar prior to Tuesday's game and Kimbrel did not appear in that contest. It's possible the skipper is just practicing some gamesmanship here so that the Yankees have less information to work with, but either way it doesn't sound like there will be clarification prior to Wednesday's game. If Kimbrel is indeed unavailable again, Yennier Cano and Danny Coulombe are candidates for saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:20 pm

    • Getting rest Wednesday
Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: With a lefty (Patrick Sandoval) on the mound for the Angels and with the Phillies and Halos wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Stott will get a maintenance day. Whit Merrifield will replace Stott at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:28 am

    • On bench again Wednesday
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: After serving as the Rays' primary designated hitter for most of the season, Ramirez could be moving into a part-time role. He's on the bench for the third time in five games, and playing time could be even more difficult to come by once Jonathan Aranda (finger) is activated from the 10-day injured list, perhaps as soon as this weekend. • Jackson Holliday resumes mashing at Triple-A
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday flopped in his first taste of the big leagues as Baltimore continued to challenge him from a development standpoint. However, that shouldn’t diminish fantasy managers’ long-term optimism. The latest multi-hit effort raises his Triple-A slash line to .321/.451/.554 with nine extra-base hits and one steal through 13 contests. He’ll get some extended time in the minors to continue ironing out contact issues and struggles against left-handed pitching, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets another shot in Baltimore. • Reaches six innings
Skenes allowed four hits and one walk while striking out seven across six scoreless innings Tuesday in an appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Skenes continued his impressive run with Indianapolis, as he now has a total of 41 strikeouts across 23 innings pitched while maintaining a 0.39 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. Most importantly, he reached five innings in an outing for the first time in a start this season and tossed 75 pitches. The Pirates still haven't announced plans to promote Skenes to Pittsburgh, but he should be up in relatively short order. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:22 am

    • Could be back for weekend series
Javier (neck) could be activated from the 15-day injured list to make a start during Houston's weekend series against Seattle, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Javier threw a bullpen session Sunday and is expected to throw again either Wednesday or Thursday. How Javier fares in his upcoming throwing session will likely determine his status for the weekend, though it appears that Javier will be able to avoid a rehab stint even if his absence extends later into May.
