• Jose Siri blasts two homers to help Rays edge A’s
Jose Siri went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs on Thursday in the Rays’ victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Siri’s second home run was a game-tying blast off Athletics closer Mason Miller in the bottom of the ninth inning. The two-homer game gives him a total of just five on the season after hitting 25 in 101 games last year. Siri hit just .222 last season and is at .188 this year so he can’t be counted on for batting average. It’s possible that he could supply a decent amount of power over the course of the rest of the season, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm

  • Ceddanne Rafaela gets a day off on Thursday
Ceddanne Rafaela is not in the Red Sox lineup on Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: It’s a routine day off for the rookie with David Hamilton playing shortstop, Jarred Duran in center field, and Rob Refsnyder in left field. The rookie continues to struggle with consistency at the plate, but he’s been in the midst of a strong stretch, hitting .273/.294/.394 over the last nine games with two steals, one home run, and seven runs. He has some swing-and-miss in his game, so there will be some ups and downs as he refines his approach, but he does have a fantasy-friendly profile and will remain a fixture in the Red Sox lineup. • Not starting Thursday
Rafaela isn't in Boston's lineup for Thursday's game against Detroit, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Rafaela went 0-for-4 during Wednesday's loss to Baltimore, putting an end to his four-game hit streak. He'll take a seat versus Jack Flaherty and the Tigers while Rob Refsnyder starts in the outfield, moving Connor Wong into the DH role and allowing Reese McGuire to start behind the plate. • Making adjustments
The Red Sox advised Rafaela to hold his hands lower in his stance, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports. He went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's loss to Baltimore and is batting .206 with a 25.7 strikeout percentage.

Advice: The goal of the hands adjustment is to cut down on all the movement needed to catch up to fastballs. "Be on time," Boston manager Alex Cora said. "We've been talking about it, showing him examples. It happens that we're here, too, [in Baltimore] and can use [the Orioles] as an example of how short they are to the ball and how they use their hands." Rafaela's been inconsistent overall but has hit better recently, going 9-for-33 (.273) over the last nine games while batting safely in seven of those contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:34 am

  • Homers Wednesday
Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Padres.

Advice: Sanchez extended Miami's lead to 7-1 in the sixth inning, launching a 412-foot solo shot off Enyel De Los Santos. It's the first homer for Sanchez since April 24 and his third of the season. The 26-year-old outfielder is now slashing .230/.285/.309 through 166 plate appearances with 19 RBI, 12 runs scored and six stolen bases. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:12 pm

  • Jose Siri walks it off for Rays
Jose Siri delivered a walk-off single in the Rays 4-3 win over the Athletics. He also had a double and drew a walk.

Advice: Siri played hero twice for the Rays on Wednesday: both on his game-winning hit and in the top of the ninth with a leaping catch at the wall in center field. He’s seen his batting average sink to .180 and OPS to .561 as he fights for playing time with Jonny DeLuca and Richie Palacios. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:59 pm

  • Getting breather versus lefty
Brennan isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: With left-hander Ty Blach set to toe the slab for Colorado, Brennan and his .550 OPS versus LHP will begin the game in the dugout. His absence will allow Johnathan Rodriguez to start in right field while batting sixth. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:21 pm

  • Idle against lefty
Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Southpaw Kyle Harrison is on the hill for the Giants in the series finale, so the lefty-hitting Marsh will bow out of the starting nine. Whit Merrifield steps in for Marsh as the Phillies' starting left fielder. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:14 am

  • Two hits in win
Jankowski started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Arizona.

Advice: Jankowski got the starting nod in left after the Rangers placed Evan Carter (back) on the 10-day injured list. Wyatt Langford returned from his own injury -- a hamstring -- and will also be available to play the field. Jankowski has been given sporadic playing time in 2024 and is batting .260/.316/.342 with a home run, three doubles, three steals, six RBI and seven runs scored over 79 plate appearances.
