• Launches walkoff homer
Vientos went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run during Sunday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Vientos entered the contest as a pinch hitter in the bottom of the ninth, notching a single. He came back to the plate in the 11th, where he plated Harrison Bader on a game-winning two-run home run. While Vientos was called up to fill the hole left by Starling Marte's (personal) absence, he could earn a permanent big-league spot if he continues to rake. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago

  • Steals two more bags
Young went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases during Sunday's 12-9 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Young's three hits were a season-high and represented his third consecutive multi-hit effort while he also stole two bags for the second-consecutive game. The young center fielder is up to 10 steals on the season, good for fifth in all of baseball despite accumulating only 60 at-bats and one walk. His average now stands at .375 with four doubles, seven RBI and 14 runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 8:27 pm

  • Spins gem against STL
Quintana didn't factor into the decision, allowing one run on three hits and a walk across eight innings against St. Louis. He struck out three.

Advice: Quintana completed six innings for the first time all season, going eight frames for the first time since September of 2022. However, he was ineligible for the win, as the contest went into the extras tied 1-1. The veteran southpaw has yielded fewer than three earned runs in four of his six starts and has yet to exceed four strikeouts in 2024. He's lined up for a start Friday against Tampa Bay. • Launches two more dingers
Senzel went 2-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI during Sunday's 12-9 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Senzel's two home runs came in consecutive innings with the two-run homer in the fourth cutting the lead to two, then the three-run blast in the fifth giving the Nationals a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The third baseman got off to a late start with the Nationals after fracturing his thumb prior to opening day but has found his groove over the last six games as each of his five hits during that stretch have cleared the outfield fence. The power is legit for Senzel, who was never quite able to put things together during his five seasons in Cincinnati but appears to be thriving in his first season with Washington. • Snaps out of slump
Kirk went 3-for-3 with a solo home run during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Kirk notched his first homer of the campaign, tagging Dodgers opener Michael Grove for a long ball in the second frame. The outburst was much needed for the slumping Kirk, who entered the contest 5-for-35 (.143) in his last 12 appearances and hitless during his last four games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 pm

  • Roughed up in no-decision
Weathers did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 12-9 loss to the Nationals, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Weathers also hit three batters, allowing a total of 11 batters to reach base during his four-inning performance. The Marlins jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, which Weathers hung on to maintain through three innings, but a five-run fourth followed by beginning the fifth with his third hit batsman led to his removal from the game as the Nationals overtook the Marlins for good during that frame. Weathers entered the contest with a 3.16 ERA but saw that number balloon to 4.55 by the end of his outing. He'll look to rebound in a favorable matchup, tentatively scheduled to take place next weekend when the Marlins travel to Oakland to take on the A's. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 pm

  • Struggles as starter
Grove (0-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks against the Blue Jays. He struck out three.

Advice: Grove led off a bullpen game for the Dodgers and was promptly pulled after a three-run second inning. During the frame, Grove allowed three hits -- including a double to Justin Turner and a solo homer to Alejandro Kirk -- and hit Cavan Biggio with a pitch. Although Grove owns a 6.88 ERA, Sunday's outing marked his first runs allowed since April 5 (7.1 innings). Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 pm

  • Suffers hand injury in win
Yoshida exited Sunday's 6-5 win over the Cubs in the sixth inning due to a left hand injury, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yoshida jammed his left hand on a groundout in his first at-bat in the bottom of the first inning, ultimately leaving the game after the top of the sixth inning. Considering the outfielder was able remain in the game as long as he did and even record a hit in his second at-bat, it's possible that the injury is minor. The team will determine if he needs x-rays during Monday's off day and he can be considered day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com Today, 7:47 pm

  • Swipes two more bases
Rocchio went 2-for-3 with two runs scored during Sunday's extra-inning loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Rocchio provided two of the Guardian's three runs, picking up his first multi-hit game since April 6 (16 games). The 23-year-old has stolen four bases this season and has scored 12 times in 90 plate appearances. However, Rocchio is still chasing his first big-league homer through 48 games and is slashing .215/.292/.304. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 pm
