• Scratched from lineup
India was a late scratch from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Arizona due to a migraine, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Spencer Steer will shift to second base to cover for India, while Jacob Hurtubise will enter the lineup in left field. Consider India day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:14 pm

  • Cleared for activity
Walls (hip) reported to the Rays' spring training facility in Port Charlotte, Fla. earlier this week and will go through workouts for the next 10-to-14 days before beginning a rehab assignment, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: According to Topkin, Walls will be going through a modified version of his own spring training while he builds up stamina and stacks up at-bats as he works his way back from the surgery he required last October to address a labral tear in his right hip. The Rays opted to shut Walls down in late April for two weeks after he experienced renewed inflammation in his hip, and the 27-year-old seemingly responded well to the extra time off. Since he's been on the injured list all season, Walls will presumably be in store for an extended minor-league rehab assignment, making it unlikely that he's activated before the end of May. Whenever he's ready to go, Walls could threaten Jose Caballero for everyday duties at shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:04 pm

  • Should resume rehab assignment soon
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that Lowe (oblique) will rejoin the team in Tampa Bay and will resume swinging the bat before heading back out on a minor-league rehab assignment in short order, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Cash's comments came after Lowe was pulled off his assignment with Durham when he experienced renewed soreness in his right oblique during his fourth rehab game Sunday. Lowe visited a spine surgeon Tuesday for further consultation on his injury, with Cash noting that further imaging showed the second baseman was "heading in the right direction" with his recovery. Cash said that Lowe may still have to manage some pain moving forward, but the 29-year-old at least appears to have steered clear of a major setback. If he's able to return to Durham and resume playing in games by this weekend, Lowe could be ready to come off the 10-day injured list at some point next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:59 am

  • Five innings on defense Tuesday
Diaz (calf) started at third base and played five innings in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over El Paso on Tuesday, going 1-for-3 with an RBI single.

Advice: Diaz picked up the first hit of his three-game rehab stint on his final at-bat of the evening, and he took another step in the right direction by logging five frames on defense for the second straight game. The veteran is likely to continue taking a day off between appearances for the moment as his ramp-up following a long layoff continues. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:58 am

  • Jorge Polanco (hamstring) should be back Friday
Jorge Polanco should be ready to play Friday after missing a second straight start Wednesday with hamstring tightness.

Advice: Luis Urias is filling in for Polanco, with Josh Rojas moving from third to second. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:31 am

  • Out Wednesday with hamstring injury
Polanco (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Polanco will take a seat for the second day in a row while he manages a tight right hamstring. The Mariners are viewing him as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list could become more realistic if Polanco is still not available to start coming out of Thursday's team off day. • Sent down to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Haggerty to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Advice: Haggerty hasn't been playing much and has done little in the opportunities he has received this season, recording one hit in 15 at-bats. Dominic Canzone (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list and will take over Haggerty's spot on the 26-man active roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 am

  • Mariners send Sam Haggerty to Triple-A
Mariners optioned INF/OF Sam Haggerty to Triple-A Tacoma.

Advice: Haggerty was 1-for-15 since being recalled on Apr. 29. His versatility makes him a fair enough 26th man, but the Mariners don’t have much need for him right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:23 am

  • Records steal in win
Freeman went 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, two hit-by-pitches, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: That's a hard way to get on base four times, but it worked well to set the table for the Guardians. Freeman is still not hitting all that well -- he's batting .167 over 12 games in May, dropping his season average to .193 through 37 contests. He's made up for it with a passable .307 on-base percentage and 9.2 percent walk rate. The 24-year-old has added five steals, four home runs, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored and six doubles through 141 plate appearances. Manager Stephen Vogt is still trying to figure out who will fit best at leadoff while Steven Kwan (hamstring) is out, and Freeman is in the mix, having hit atop the order in each of the last three games.
