• Takes seat Thursday
Miranda is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Miranda had started at third base in seven of the previous eight contests, but he'll cede the hot corner to Willi Castro in the series finale. Though Miranda has posted an .832 OPS over his last 15 games, his opportunities could soon take a hit with Byron Buxton (knee) having kicked off a rehab assignment and potentially returning from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend. Castro has been serving as Buxton's primary replacement in the outfield, but Castro will likely see more time at third base at Miranda's expense once Buxton is activated. • Begins rehab assignment
Buxton (knee) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

Advice: Buxton played seven innings in center field before being lifted from the game. He could need another rehab game or two before being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, but Buxton's return to the 26-man active roster is coming soon. He's been out for most of May with right knee inflammation. Rotowire.com Today, 7:05 am

  • Ty France goes deep as Mariners top Royals
Ty France clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Wednesday, helping to lead the Mariners to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Royals.

Advice: France blasted his 414-foot solo shot off of Royals’ right-hander Alec Marsh in the fourth inning, increasing the M’s early advantage to 2-0. He finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now hitting .243/.295/.368 with the aforementioned four long balls and 14 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:56 pm
  • Mariners activate Dominic Canzone from I.L.
Mariners activated OF Dominic Canzone from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Canzone was hitting .219/.286/.531 in 14 games before going down with a shoulder injury. He was ahead of Luke Raley on the depth chart at that point, but with Raley heating up, he might take more of a backseat for now, at least assuming that Mitch Garver is able to return to the DH spot in the coming days. If Garver lands on the IL, both Raley and Canzone could start in the outfield against righties, with Mitch Haniger DHing. That is the alignment today, as Canzone is playing left and batting seventh. • Returns from IL
The Mariners reinstated Canzone (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: The Mariners weren't expected to bring Canzone back from the IL until this weekend, but he'll end up joining the club for its series finale with the Royals after he checked out fine following his third rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. Prior to landing on the shelf April 15 with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder, Canzone had taken hold of a strong-side platoon role in left field. Those duties have largely fallen to Luke Raley during his absence, and though Raley has enjoyed a hot run at the plate of late, Canzone will step into the starting lineup in his first game back with the team. He'll man left field and bat seventh Wednesday against the Royals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:24 am
  • Set to restart rehab stint
LeMahieu (foot) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Thursday or Friday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Advice: LeMahieu had embarked upon a rehab stint April 23 but lasted only one inning due to soreness in his injured right foot. He's been ramping back up of late by taking live batting practice and fielding grounders, and he recently resumed running the bases. Per Joyce, LeMahieu's restarted rehab assignment will begin with Double-A Somerset and is expected to include "a decent amount of games." Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:02 am

  • Pops third homer
Raley went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Raley continues to profile as one of the inconsistent Mariners' more reliable hitters after a slow start to his team tenure, with Tuesday's homer his second in as many games. Raley's season average and OPS are up to a solid .265 and .729, respectively, and he sports a .357/.419/.714 slash line over the 31 plate appearances encompassing his last nine games. • Hits monster homer
Stanton went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Twins.

Advice: Stanton launched a 427-foot homer in the third inning off Chris Paddack for his ninth long ball of 2024. The 34-year-old still owns a huge 34 percent strikeout rate, but he's also carrying a .236 batting average and is slugging .471 -- both would be his best tallies since 2021. Stanton has hit safely in eight of his last nine games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:25 pm
  • Stanton hits ninth homer of year vs. Twins
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-5 with a home run in Tuesday’s win over the Twins.

Advice: Stanton hit his ninth homer of the season in the third inning when he took Chris Paddack deep for a solo blast, giving the Yankees a 3-1 lead. A true feast-or-famine player at this stage of his career, Stanton is still good for the occasional homer and has plenty of opportunities to drive in runs batting in the middle of a potent lineup, but shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a desperation play as far as fantasy is concerned.
