      Advice: The breakout sensation of the 2024 campaign so far, Gil kept rolling on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium, scattering one hit and three walks over six nearly-flawless frames against a talented Minnesota lineup. He’s emerged as an early AL Cy Young Award contender this season, allowing one earned run or fewer in seven consecutive starts since May 1. The 26-year-old righty won’t be able to sustain these sublime results long-term, but he’s rapidly evolved into a legitimate upper-echelon fantasy contributor, thanks to his ability to consistently miss bats and avoid hard contact.       Gray (groin) threw 40-to-50 pitches during a bullpen session Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reported Tuesday.

      Advice: Gray will throw another bullpen session Wednesday, and if all goes well, manager Bruce Bochy said the right-hander could be an option to return from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday versus the Giants, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News.       Megill (1-2) picked up the win Monday against Washington, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks. He struck out four in five innings of work.

      Advice: Megill made his third start since returning from a shoulder injury on May 20, notching his first win. The right-hander gave up his first home run of the season, a two-run shot by Joey Gallo in the fourth inning. Despite earning the win, the 28-year-old yielded four earned runs and recorded just four strikeouts, both season-worsts. Megill has now compiled a 3.00 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and a 24:9 K:BB across 21 innings. He will look to improve in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday versus Miami.       Tylor Megill was charged with five runs (four earned) over five innings on Monday in a win over the Nationals.

      Advice: Megill wasn’t particularly sharp on Monday night at Nationals Park, surrendering seven hits, including a two-run homer to Joey Gallo. Fortunately he didn’t have to be at his best in this one as his Washington counterpart, MacKenzie Gore, turned in his worst outing of the season to date. The 28-year-old righty was unable to get the Nationals to chase in this one as he generated only six swinging strikes and finished with a lackluster 23 percent CSW. He notched four strikeouts and also handed out a trio of free passes.       Advice: The Rangers remain hopeful that Gray will only need a minimum stint on the injured list, so there’s a lot riding on Monday’s session.       Advice: A flyout allowed the initial runner to advance to third base, but Helsley struck out the next two batters to close this game. It was encouraging to see the 29-year-old have a dominant outing after allowing four runs over his previous three appearances. He's earned a save in eight straight outings despite his recent shakiness, and he still has a 2.42 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 26 innings while converting 19 of 20 save chances this season.
