      Advice: Mountcastle has been making some loud contact in May, with seven of his 11 hits this month going for extra bases. The first baseman is slashing .288/.331/.511 with six home runs, 18 RBI, 22 runs scored, two stolen bases, 11 doubles and a triple over 35 contests overall. Per Statcast, Mountcastle has a 46.6 percent hard-hit rate this season, the best mark of his career, though his 10.7 percent barrel rate is the lowest it's been in four years.       Nolan Jones (back) will join Triple-A Albuquerque to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.

      Jones (back) did light throwing prior to Thursday's game against the Giants and will continue to ramp up his activity Friday or Saturday, MLB.com reports.

      Ryan Mountcastle slugged a two-run homer in the 11th inning on Wednesday night, helping to propel the Orioles to a wild 7-6 victory over the Nationals in 12 innings.

      Advice: With one out left to get in the ninth inning, the Orioles had a comfortable 3-1 lead, then insanity ensued. Neither team scored in the 10th inning, then Mountcastle clobbered a 386-foot (98.8 mph EV) two-run shot off of Hunter Harvey in the 11th that gave the O’s a two-run lead. The Nationals would answer in their half of the 11th. The O’s then pushed two runs across in the 12th and allowed just one to escape with a victory.
