Ober (8-4) picked up the win Thursday against Detroit, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: All three runs scored by the Tigers came with two outs in the second inning after strike three to Zach McKinstry got past Ryan Jeffers and allowed McKinstry to reach first and extend the inning. Still, Ober managed to generate a fourth straight quality start and outing with at least eight Ks. Through 94.0 innings, Ober owns a 4.12 ERA and a 100:23 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox in Chicago next time out. Rotowire.com Today, 9:12 pm

    • Fairbanks picks up 14th save against Royals
Peter Fairbanks gave up one run and picked up the save against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: It was Fairbanks’ 14th win of the season. He gave up a solo home run to Bobby Witt Jr. in a three-run game in the ninth inning. Fairbanks has a 3.23 ERA on the season and just saved his ninth game since June 1st. Rotoworld Today, 8:43 pm
    • Huge day at plate
Happ went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six RBI during Thursday's 10-2 win against the Phillies.

Advice: Happ blasted his 12th dinger in the fourth with a three-run blast from the right side of the plate that put the Cubs on the board, then turned around and repeated the feat from the left side of the plate in the fifth. It was the second multi-homer game of the season for Happ while the six RBI represent a season high. Happ, who entered the day batting 6-for-38 (.158) over the last 12 games, raised his season average from .227 to .238 with 13 homers, 20 doubles, 50 RBI, 47 runs and seven steals. • Brenton Doyle sits Thursday with calf soreness
Brenton Doyle is not in the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the Brewers.

Advice: Doyle is dealing with some relatively minor calf soreness after fouling a ball off it during Wednesday’s loss to the Brewers so he’ll take a seat in the midst of a sizzling-hot stretch at the plate where he’s homered four times over his last seven contests. It’ll be Jake Cave in center field on Thursday evening in his place. Rotoworld Today, 2:34 pm

    • Sitting with calf tightness
Doyle isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers due to calf tightness, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Doyle fouled a ball off his calf during Wednesday's loss and will sit out Thursday's game in order to recover. While he rests, Nolan Jones, Jake Cave and Sam Hilliard will start across Colorado's outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 2:03 pm

    • Ian Happ hits two three-run homers in rout
Ian Happ went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of three-run homers as the Cubs crushed the Phillies 10-2 on Thursday.

Advice: One of Happ’s remaining hits was a double, giving him 11 total bases in four plate appearances. Unfortunately, he was on deck when the bottom of the eighth ended, denying him a chance to add on. Happ has seven homers in his last 18 games after totaling just six in his first 64. He’s added about 100 points of OPS in three weeks and is currently at .238/.351/.448 for the year. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Bailey Ober strikes out eight in win over Tigers
Bailey Ober worked six innings and allowed three runs — one earned — in a victory over the Tigers on Thursday.

Advice: Ober struck out eight and walked none. He has a 27/3 K/BB ratio in his last three starts and a 100/23 K/BB ratio in 94 innings for the year. The 4.12 ERA still isn’t great, but everything else is exactly what one would expect from him. He’ll face the White Sox next. Rotoworld Today, 1:31 pm

    • Yimi García starting rehab assignment on Saturday
Yimi García (elbow) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: García got through a bullpen session on Wednesday without any issues and will get in a handful of rehab outings before turning to Toronto’s closing mix. The 33-year-old, who has been out since mid-June with an elbow injury, figures to split the closing duties with fellow veteran Chad Green once he’s back, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him completely take over the role. • Sitting Thursday
Garcia isn't in the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Rays.

Advice: Garcia will get a day to rest Thursday after going 1-for-7 with a walk and a run scored through the first two games of the series. His absence will move Michael Massey into second base while Vinnie Pasquantino serves as the DH, putting Salvador Perez at first with Freddy Fermin behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 1:12 pm
