• Reinstated from IL
The Twins reinstated Buxton (knee) from the injured list Saturday.

Advice: Buxton went 0-for-6 with an RBI during his two-game rehab assignment, but he has seemingly fully recovered from his right knee inflammation and will return as Minnesota's everyday center fielder. The 30-year-old was slashing .343/.410/.543 with four RBI and eight runs scored across his last 10 games before getting injured. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:19 am
  • Byron Buxton (knee) nearing activation from IL
Byron Buxton (knee) has joined the Twins in Cleveland and could be activated from the injured list as early as Saturday.

Advice: The dynamic 30-year-old outfielder played in a pair of rehab games at Triple-A St. Paul without incident and as long as he’s feeling alright on Saturday it sounds like he’ll be cleared to return. Buxton has hit .250/.300/.391 with just one home run, 11 RBI and one stolen base in 100 plate appearances with the Twins so far this season. Rotoworld Friday, 3:10 pm
  • Starting as designated hitter
Santander (knee) is in the starting lineup as the designated hitter for Friday's matchup against the Mariners.

Advice: Santander hurt his knee in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays after first colliding with the outfield wall and then hitting it again during a slide, which led to his exit from the game. The veteran outfielder will be eased back into the lineup at designated hitter while Ryan O'Hearn mans right field. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:25 pm

  • Aiming for Saturday return
Buxton (knee) will play one more rehab game with Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday before targeting a return to the Twins on Saturday in Cleveland, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.

Advice: Buxton kicked off a rehab assignment with St. Paul on Wednesday, going 0-for-3 at the plate and playing seven innings in center field. He'll likely be asked to play a full game there Thursday and, assuming all goes well, will be activated Saturday following a day of rest Friday. Buxton has been out since early May while battling right knee inflammation. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:29 am
  • Begins rehab assignment
Buxton (knee) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

Advice: Buxton played seven innings in center field before being lifted from the game. He could need another rehab game or two before being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, but Buxton's return to the 26-man active roster is coming soon. He's been out for most of May with right knee inflammation. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:05 am
  • Exits game with bruised knee
Santander was removed from Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays due to a bruised knee, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. He went 2-for-4 with a double.

Advice: Santander banged up his knee when he collided with the outfield wall and then aggravated it on a double and a slide in the eighth inning before being lifted in the ninth. The injury doesn't sound like a big concern, and it's possible the Orioles' scheduled off day Thursday will be enough rest for Santander. Consider him day-to-day heading into this weekend's series versus the Mariners. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:12 pm

  • Anthony Santander leaves game with bruised knee
Anthony Santander was pulled from Wednesday’s contest against the Blue Jays due to a bruised knee.

Advice: Santander initially suffered the injury when he crashed into the outfield wall in the third inning on Wednesday. He then aggravated if further while sliding into second base during the eighth inning. It doesn’t sound like it’s anything that should require a trip to the injured list, but there’s a chance that the 29-year-old slugger will be held out of the lineup an extra day or two to be on the safe side. • Brent Rooker drives in A’s lone run vs. Astros
Brent Rooker went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: It was an underwhelming night for Rooker and the A’s, as their offense was held to just one run on seven hits before eventually losing in the 10th inning. Rooker’s single in the eighth inning scored Abraham Toro to tie the game and eventually force extra innings, as Rooker has now hit safely in eight straight games. The veteran outfielder is slashing .435/.509/.848 this month and appears to have put his slow start to the season behind him. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:29 pm
