    • Reaches twice in shutout loss
Rooker went 1-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: The Athletics only managed five hits -- all singles -- against a masterful Kevin Gausman in the shutout loss, so Rooker had what could be termed a relatively successful night in that context. The 29-year-old has been one of the Athletics' more consistent bats over the first two months-plus of the season yet is off to an uneven start to June -- he's recorded a double, triple, home run and four RBI, but he's also hitting just .217 overall (5-for-23) while striking out at a 33.3 percent clip. • Sitting Sunday
Lewis is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Pirates.

Advice: Lewis will begin Sunday's game in the dugout after going 1-for-8 with three strikeouts over the first two games of the series. The 24-year-old third baseman came off the injured list Tuesday after missing almost 10 weeks due to a strained right quadriceps, so rest days are to be expected. Jose Miranda will start at third base Sunday, while Trevor Larnach serves as the designated hitter against Pirates right-hander Jared Jones. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am

    • Royce Lewis not starting Sunday vs. Pirates
Royce Lewis is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the PIrates.

Advice: The Twins will continue to give Lewis some days of maintenance after returning from his quad injury. The 25-year-old will take a seat with Jose Miranda hitting fifth and playing third base against Jared Jones and Pittsburgh. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 am

    • Tyler Anderson allows four runs in loss to Astros
Tyler Anderson was tagged for four runs over six innings on Saturday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Anderson’s run of five consecutive quality starts since May 11 came to an end in this one as Jose Altuve and Jake Meyers delivered early run-scoring singles before Yordan Alvarez took him deep for a two-run blast in the fifth inning. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a strong 2.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53/33 K/BB ratio across 82 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the struggling Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Today, 3:13 am
    • Yields four runs in loss
Anderson (5-6) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Anderson gave up two runs in each of the third and fifth innings. He threw 60 of 90 pitches for strikes, but this was the first time in five starts he allowed more than one run. It was just the second time he's been on the hook for four runs this year. The southpaw is at a 2.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53:33 K:BB over 82 innings through 13 starts in 2024. Anderson's surface stats look close to his career year from 2022, but his 4.70 FIP and .218 BABIP suggest he's been very fortunate in 2024. Given his high walk rate, Anderson is a risky pitcher to roster in fantasy over the rest of the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:51 pm
    • Notches steal Saturday
Altuve went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Altuve has been steady but not outstanding over his last 15 games, going 17-for-61 (.279) with two steals, four RBI and five runs scored in that span. He hasn't homered since May 20, taking a bit of the wind out of his sails after a strong start to the year in the power department. Overall, the second baseman is slashing .288/.340/.436 with nine homers, nine steals, 22 RBI and 37 runs scored over 64 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm

    • Freddie Freeman doubles twice in blowout win
Freddie Freeman doubled twice and drove home a pair of runs in a blowout win Saturday over the Yankees.

Advice: One of the doubles was a rare misplay from Alex Verdugo, but it still counts in the scoreboard. The 34-year-old now has doubled 19 times on the season while driving in 40 runs. Even with a mediocre May, Freeman’s slash of .293/.399/.488 is awfully hard to complain about. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Ben Lively blanks Marlins over five innings in win
Ben Lively didn’t allow a run over five innings to pick up a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Lively only struck out one, but he was still able to keep the Marlins off the board by allowing only three hits. The only extra-base hit allowed was a double to Vidal Bruján, and outside of that it was smooth sailing for the 32-year-old. Lively now has a 6-2 record and 2.59 ERA, which absolutely everyone was predicting before the season started. The Blue Jays are scheduled for next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:59 pm

    • Win streak up to five
Lively (6-2) allowed three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over five shutout innings to earn the win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Lively might have had more in the tank -- he threw just 65 pitches (43 strikes) in a sharp but somewhat short outing. It was enough for his fifth straight win, and he's allowed just eight runs with a 22:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings in that span. Lively isn't dominating by most measures, as his 20.2 percent whiff rate is in the 15th percentile in the majors, per Statcast. He also averages just 90 mph between his four-seam fastball and sinker, which combine for roughly 60 percent of his pitches. Despite the poor under-the-hood metrics, he's pitched to a 2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 48:15 K:BB over 55.2 innings through 10 starts this season. Lively's next start is projected to be at Toronto.
