    • Notches second save
Sewald worked a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his second save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: The right-hander needed only eight pitches (four strikes) to get the job done. Sewald has been his usual effective self since making his season debut May 7, giving up just one run with a 4:1 K:BB in his first four innings, and he has a firm hold on the closer role for Arizona. • Paul Sewald quiets Reds to collect second save
Paul Sewald tossed a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Reds to collect his second save of the season.

Advice: Sewald got the call to protect a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth after Lourdes Gurriel Jr. put Arizona ahead in the top of the frame with a two-out RBI double. He got Mike Ford to ground out before coaxing a harmless pop up from Spencer Steer and a fly out from Jeimer Candelario to end the contest. The 33-year-old veteran stopper has converted both of his save chances to go along with a 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 4/1 K/BB ratio across four innings (four appearances) since returning from the injured list back on May 7. • Raisel Iglesias gives up solo homer vs. Mets
Raisel Iglesias allowed a solo homer while picking up a strikeout in a relief appearance Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Atlanta didn’t allow a hit over the first 8 2/3 innings, but Iglesias gave up the no-no — and the shutout — by allowing a homer to J.D. Martinez. Iglesias also gave up another hit and a walk, but he was able to escape the jam; although the escape comes without a save since he entered the game with a 4-0 lead. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:58 pm
    • Just misses quality start Friday
Irvin (4-1) picked up the win Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks. He struck out six.

Advice: The southpaw was sharp and had given up only a solo shot to Ketel Marte heading into the sixth inning, but Irvin got the hook after 95 pitches (62 strikes) with runners on first and second and two outs. Albert Suarez then promptly gave up a single to let one of the inherited runners score, but the O's bullpen took care of business the rest of the way. Irvin generated 30 called or swinging strikes as he won his fourth straight start, and after a bumpy beginning to the season he's posted a 1.19 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB in 30.1 innings over his last five outings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:18 am

    • Cole Irvin downs Diamondbacks, improves to 4-1
Cole Irvin threw 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs Friday in the Orioles’ 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Irvin got the win and moved to 4-1 with a 2.90 ERA. He wasn’t supposed to still be in the Orioles rotation with Kyle Bradish and John Means back, but the Grayson Rodriguez and Tyler Wells injuries changed things, and Irvin is making a case to stick after Rodriguez returns. The Orioles might go to a six-man rotation for a time in order to lighten the load. Rotoworld Friday, 8:32 pm

    • Notches 10th save
Iglesias allowed a run on a hit and a walk in the ninth inning Friday to earn a save against the Mets.

Advice: Iglesias coughed up an RBI single to Pete Alonso with two outs in the ninth but was able to close out the 4-2 victory. The right-hander has converted 10 of his 12 save chances this year while posting a 10:4 K:BB through 15.1 innings. Friday was the first time he'd allowed an earned run since April 24, and he owns a strong 2.25 ERA. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:30 pm
    • Raisel Iglesias earns shaky save over Mets
Raisel Iglesias closed out the Mets for his 10th save of the season Friday despite allowing an earned run.

Advice: Results wise, Iglesias has been great this season with a 2.35 ERA. There’s some fear of regression though with a paltry 16.1 K%, by far the lowest of his career. A.J. Minter has faltered out of the gate, so Iglesias still likely has a firm hold on Atlanta’s closer role. Rotoworld Friday, 7:48 pm
    • Nails down first save
Sewald earned the save in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: After allowing a home run to Tyler Stephenson in his season debut Tuesday, Sewald looked much better in his first save chance Thursday, striking out Will Benson and Stephenson to close out the one-run victory. The 33-year-old Sewald is expected to step back in as Arizona's primary closer after missing the first month of the season with an oblique injury. He recorded 34 saves last year while pitching to a 3.12 ERA in 60.2 innings between Arizona and Seattle. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:58 pm
    • Paul Sewald picks up first save against Reds
Paul Sewald threw a scoreless inning to pick up a save Thursday against the Reds.

Advice: Sewald has his first save of the season after missing the first month-plus of the season with an oblique strain. The right-hander looked good while picking up the save with two strikeouts, no hits allowed and 8-of-11 offerings landing for strikes. Sewald should see the bulk of save chances for Arizona now that he’s back healthy. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:29 pm
