    • Tyler O’Neill not in the Red Sox lineup on Thursday
Tyler O’Neill is not in the lineup on Thursday as the Red Sox take on the Rays.

Advice: After getting off to a torrid start, O’Neill has struggled of late. Since his collision with Rafael Devers in the outfield on April 15th which landed O’Neill on the concussion IL, the outfielder has hit just .219 with three home runs and a 41.5 percent strikeout rate. He was hitting .313 with seven home runs and a 21 percent strikeout rate prior. While the early season sample size is small, it’s worth noting that concussion symptoms can linger, as we saw with Anthony Rizzo last year. Perhaps it’s just a cold stretch, but maybe O’Neill is still feeling some effects of the head injury. Rob Refsnyder will be in left field and hitting third on Thursday while Garrett Cooper will DH and bat sixth. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

    • Angels activate Luis Rengifo from IL
Angels activated Luis Rengifo (viral infection) from the injured list.

Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the IL last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is. Niko Goodrum was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. • Activated from injured list
The Angels activated Rengifo (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Rengifo missed the last week and a half with a viral illness which resulted in painful blisters on his feet. He's recovered now, though, and should be back in the lineup when the Angels return to action Friday in Texas against the Rangers. The super utility player is slashing .330/.378/.462 with two home runs and nine stolen bases over 28 contests this season. Rotowire.com Today, 10:27 am

    • Resting Thursday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Jeffers will get some maintenance in Thursday's day game after he caught all nine innings of the Twins' 4-0 loss Wednesday night. Christian Vazquez will check in for Jeffers behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 7:14 am

    • Goes deep in loss
Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Abreu gave Boston a 2-1 lead with his solo blast in the fourth inning. The homer was the fourth for Abreu, who has settled into the strong-side platoon role after a shaky start to the season. He's currently slashing .305/.391/.547 against right-handers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:00 am

    • Resting against lefty
Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: With lefty Joey Lucchesi on the bump for the Mets, the lefty-hitting Marsh will head to the bench Wednesday. Cristian Pache replaces him in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:27 pm

    • Resting Wednesday
Yelich is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: With a lefty (Martin Perez) on the hill for Pittsburgh and the Brewers and Pirates getting together for a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Yelich will hit the bench in the series finale. Yelich's absence clears a spot in the outfield for Blake Perkins, who returns to the lineup after playing off the bench for the past two games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:41 am
    • Mashes fifth homer
Olson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: After hitting the ball hard most of the early part of the season with little to show for it, Olson got rewarded for his efforts Tuesday, driving in his first run with a first-inning double that had an exit velocity of 105.2 mph before he belted a three-run bomb off Jameson Taillon in the fourth that left his bat at 108.2 mph. Over the last eight games, Olson is batting .310 (9-for-29) with two of his five homers on the season as he gets back into his 2023 form. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 am
