    • Dominant in Tuesday's win
Sale (6-1) picked up the win in Tuesday's 7-0 victory over the Cubs, scattering two hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran southpaw simply overmatched Chicago's hitters, and the only runner to get into scoring position against Sale came after one of his two HBPs on the night. He generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 92 pitches as he produced his second straight quality start and fourth of the season, and Sale will take a 2.54 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and eye-popping 61:8 K:BB through 49.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Padres. • Eight Ks in no-decision
Pivetta came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Rays, allowing two runs on four hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander generated an impressive 32 called or swinging strikes among his 81 pitches, but both runs off Pivetta came on solo shots by Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena, with the latter chasing him from the game one out short of his second quality start of the season. Pivetta has served up five homers in two starts since coming off the IL, a worrisome trend, but he'll carry a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 22:2 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in St. Louis. • Produces lone run
Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Jeffers gave Minnesota the lead with a solo homer as the team's first batter of the game. However, they wouldn't score another run following Jeffers' round-tripper and Jeffers himself struck out in his final three plate appearances. The catcher has hit double-digit homers in 2024 and is on pace to smash his career high of 14 long balls. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:19 pm

    • Rocked by Yankees
Paddack (4-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing five runs on 12 hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Paddack couldn't get much by the Yankees on Tuesday, tying his career high in hits allowed while all nine NYY batters generated a hit. The poor showing was a surprise considering Paddack was victorious in his previous four starts -- allowing five runs across 23.1 innings with two 10-strikeout games. Paddack has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his eight starts but owns a 4.89 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP over 42.1 innings. He's lined up to face the Guardians in Cleveland on Sunday. • Cal Quantrill pitches Rockies past Padres
Cal Quantrill held the Padres to one run over six innings in picking up a victory Tuesday.

Advice: Amazingly and incredibly, Quantrill’s ERA is down to 3.66. He’s allowed a total of two runs in his last three starts, even striking out 19 batters in the process. We still certainly wouldn’t suggest grabbing him in fantasy leagues, but this has been a whole lot better than his Colorado experience figured to go. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm
    • Exits with forearm injury
Winn was removed from his start during the fifth inning of Tuesday's game against the Dodgers due to right forearm tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Winn will receive an MRI on Wednesday, at which point more will be known regarding the severity of his injury, as well as a potential return timeline. The 26-year-old righty allowed five earned runs through four-plus innings before getting pulled and is tentatively lined up to make his next start Sunday against the Rockies. • Keaton Winn exits due to forearm tightnesss
The Giants said Keaton Winn suffered from forearm tightness while giving up five runs in four innings Tuesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: That’s a bummer. Winn has a 6.17 ERA after this, but he’s generally looked better than that suggests. The Giants just sent down Mason Black with Blake Snell set to return to the rotation, but they might need to go back to him now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:35 pm
    • Jeffers’ homer gives Twins lone run vs. Yankees
Ryan Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Carlos Rodón’s second pitch of the evening was sent 429 feet into the left field stands by Jeffers, who got the scoring started with a leadoff homer. It was Jeffers’ 10th home run of the season, as he’s well on pace to top his previous career high of 14 before the all-star break. Jeffers is now slashing .278/.308/.806 in the month of May with five homers and 13 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:34 pm

    • Paddack allows 12 hits, five earned runs vs. Yanks
Chris Paddack allowed 12 hits and five earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Paddack struggled in the second inning of this one, allowing four hits and two runs before retiring Juan Soto and Aaron Judge to end the inning. He’d give up a solo homer to Giancarlo Stanton in the third inning and was pulled after the fifth inning and 95 pitches. Paddack tied a season-high with 12 hits allowed in this one and saw his WHIP rise to 1.65. His next start is slated to come on Sunday against the Guardians. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm
