    • Strong until late homer
Gilbert (3-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Royals.

Advice: Gilbert gave up just four baserunners over the first six innings. He went back out for the seventh, but two walks and a Nelson Velazquez home run ended his outing in unfortunate fashion. It's a significant improvement on the eight-run fiasco he had in Minnesota in his last start, but it's still a second straight loss for 27-year-old. He's pitched to a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB over 58.2 innings over nine starts this season. Gilbert is projected for a tough road start versus the Yankees his next time out. • Dylan Cease fans eight in loss to Rockies
Dylan Cease surrendered three runs in 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: The third run came after he was pulled in the sixth. Cease struck out eight and gave up just four hard-hit balls, although one was a homer. It’s just the second time this season that he’s failed to complete six innings. Ideally, he would have done better than this with the matchup against a terrible offense at Petco Park, but there’s very little to be disappointed about here so far. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Converts 10th save
McArthur allowed a run on two hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: McArthur gave up a solo home run to Mitch Haniger in the ninth inning, but he was able to avoid any further damage. The right-hander has surrendered seven runs (six earned) over his last five appearances, and he's been tagged for four homers in that span. He's managed to convert saves in each of his last two outings despite the long balls. McArthur is 10-for-13 in save chances this year while adding a 4.58 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through 19.2 innings. He does not appear to be in danger of losing the closer job yet, but it is concerning to see him give up so much hard contact. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
    • James McArthur records save against Mariners
James McArthur gave up one run while getting the final four outs for a save Tuesday against the Mariners.

Advice: Mitch Haniger homered off him in the ninth, but the Royals had a three-run lead at the time. It’s the 10th save for McArthur, who has a 4.58 ERA on the season. He’s given up four homers in 19 2/3 innings. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
    • Logan Gilbert takes loss in quality start
Logan Gilbert lost to the Royals after allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday.

Advice: All of the runs scored on Nelson Velázquez’s homer with two outs in the seventh, after which Gilbert was immediately removed. Obviously, it was an unfortunate conclusion, but it was still a nice rebound outing after he gave up eight runs last time out versus the Twins. Gilbert struck out seven and got 18 missed swings, tied for the second-highest total from any starter tonight (Joe Ross, at 21, was tops). Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

    • Leiter lit up for 6 ER in 1 2/3 IP vs. Guardians
Jack Leiter allowed six earned runs over 1 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Guardians.

Advice: It was another rough outing for Leiter, whose ERA now sits at 16.39 through three career starts. Baseball’s No. 6 ranked prospect made it through the first inning unscathed despite a few erratic pitches but was lit for six runs in the second inning, with Josh Naylor’s three-run bomb putting the finishing touches on a disastrous inning for the young righty. Assuming he’s still with the big league club next week, Leiter’s next outing is scheduled for Tuesday against the Phillies, which could make for another challenging start. Rotoworld Today, 8:18 pm
    • Taillon doomed by poor 4th inning in loss to ATL
Jameson Taillon allowed seven runs (two earned) on seven hits in four innings in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Taillon allowed just one run on four hits in the first three innings, with three of those hits coming in the first. He started off the fourth inning by allowing a home run to Michal Harris II but then Taillon committed a fielding error and would later throw a wild pitch, both of which extended the inning and caused the right-hander to throw more pitches, allow more hits, and more unearned runs. It was a sloppy inning that overshadowed Taillon’s impressive 28 percent whiff rate with 12 whiffs coming on 43 swings. His sweeper and cutter were particularly strong on the day, but he struggled with his command and the Braves made him pay. Taillon will carry a 1.61 ERA into a start against the Pirates this weekend and is a strong streaming candidate for that game. Rotoworld Today, 6:43 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan nets 13th save on Tuesday
Kyle Finnegan tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the White Sox to collect his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Finnegan’s streak of 11 consecutive hitless innings came to a close when he gave up a one-out single to Andrew Benintendi. Yet, he managed to scatter a pair of hits in the frame, thanks to a couple ground outs and a strikeout of Nicky Lopez to end the contest, preserving a three-run lead in the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader. He’s converted 13 of 14 save chances this season to go along with a 1.56 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 17/8 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings (18 appearances). He’s been one of the best closers in baseball for fantasy purposes so far. Rotoworld Today, 4:29 pm

    • Nico Hoerner scratched with hamstring tightness
Nico Hoerner was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to left hamstring tightness.

Advice: It sounds like a precautionary measure since Hoerner was in Chicago’s original lineup, but it’s a situation fantasy managers should keep a close eye on moving forward. The 27-year-old middle infielder should be considered day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 4:24 pm
