    • Crushes three-run homer in win
O'Neill went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in a 9-3 win over the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: O'Neill singled in the first inning then broke the game open in the fourth, crushing a three-run homer off Aaron Nola that traveled 430 feet over the Green Monster. After returning at DH from a knee injury Wednesday, O'Neill got the start in right field and hit his first home run since May 19. O'Neill endured a terrible May, hitting .151 with two home runs and five RBI over 73 at-bats but has opened June going 7-for-16 with a homer and five RBI in just five contests. Health has always been a concern for O'Neill, as he has eclipsed 100 games played in a season just once, but he is now slashing .256/.356/.512 with 12 home runs in 2024. • O’Neill crushes 12th home run Thursday
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run against the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: O’Neill’s home run was his 12th and his first since May 19th against St. Louis. He was back in right field after missing Tuesday’s game with knee discomfort and occupying the designated hitter spot on Wednesday. Fantasy managers have to be pleased with these developments. • Diaz has two hits in win over Cubs Thursday
Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Diaz’ RBI single was the difference in the 3-2 Rays win. The defending batting champion in the American League is heating up at the plate. He’s now 17-for-50 (.340) in his last 12 games to get his average up to .260 on the season.

    • Lance Lynn pulled with lead in fifth inning
Lance Lynn was charged with three runs in 4 1/3 innings Thursday versus the Pirates.

Advice: After going four scoreless, Lynn gave up a single and two walks to open the fifth. He might have gotten out of it from there if only he hadn’t kicked a comebacker with one out and the bases loaded; it could have been a double play had it made it through untouched, but it instead resulted in no outs and a run in. Lynn was pulled at that point, and two of the three runners he left on came around to score off John King. It’s a third straight start in which Lynn has failed to complete five innings. His 3.75 ERA remains reasonable, but the early exits have left him with a 2-3 record, even though the Cardinals are 8-6 in his 14 starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Falls apart in fifth inning
Lynn came away with a no-decision Thursday, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a 4-3 win versus the Pirates.

Advice: Lynn cruised through the first four innings, allowing only three baserunners to reach before he hit a wall in the fifth. He departed with the bases loaded in the fifth, and all three baserunners would come around to score. The veteran righty has struggled going deep into games of late, as this was his third straight start of less than five frames. The 37-year-old will take a 3.75 ERA through 14 starts into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for early next week against the Marlins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:56 pm

    • Collects season-high four hits
Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead while his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time in 58 games, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game this season. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:06 pm

    • Reynaldo López shuts out Orioles for six in win
Reynaldo López shut out the Orioles for six innings, striking out eight, in the Braves’ 6-3 win Thursday.

Advice: López left with a four-run lead, which was fortunate since Pierce Johnson gave up a three-run homer in the seventh. It’s just the fourth victory for López, even though he’s allowed three runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts. If he had done this for the 2023 Braves, he’d probably have at least twice as many wins right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:01 pm
    • Ozzie Albies collects four hits against Orioles
Ozzie Albies had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: That as many hits as he had in his previous seven games combined. Albies hasn’t been a disaster for the Braves this season, but he has been quite a fantasy disappointment, mostly because he’s been limited to four homers in 58 games. He finished with 33 in 148 games last year. It’s the result of injuries and the short 2020, but it’s kind of funny that through Albies’ first seven seasons (not including the partial 2024), he’s had at least 24 homers four times and no more than eight the other three years. • Tosses another gem
Lopez (4-2) earned the win Thursday, allowing no runs on two hits and a walk over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lopez allowed only three baserunners on the day, never more than one in an inning, and matching a season-high with eight strikeouts. Lopez has made a habit this year of tossing gems, collecting his eighth quality start while never allowing more than three runs in an outing and allowing two runs or less for the 11th time in 12 starts this season. Lopez will carry a league-leading 1.69 ERA into his next outing, currently scheduled to take place early next week when the Tigers pay a visit to Atlanta for a three-game set.
