He has been swinging a hot bat in May, slashing .353/.488/.647 with three homers, seven RBI and 10 runs along with an 8:8 BB:K over 43 plate appearances.     Advice: McCarthy has two homers over 16 games in May, but he's collected just five hits over his last eight contests. The outfielder is up to two homers on the season while slashing .283/.357/.414 over 114 plate appearances. He's added three stolen bases, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, five doubles and a triple. Pavin Smith has been the biggest threat to McCarthy's playing time in right field lately, and Randal Grichuk is also in the mix to poach some at-bats versus southpaws.     Advice: After a two-homer game versus the Brewers on Sunday, Tucker showcased his speed Monday. The outfielder is in the midst of another excellent stretch with seven homers and four steals over his last 14 contests. For the season, he's up to a .288/.421/.618 slash line with 15 home runs, 34 RBI, 33 runs scored, nine steals and 11 doubles over 47 games.     Advice: Rengifo has gone 4-for-18 with three steals, one RBI and two extra-base hits over four contests since he returned from an illness. The infielder is slashing .312/.364/.450 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and 12 thefts through 32 games this season.   • Jake McCarthy goes 2-for-4, homers in loss
    Jake McCarthy went 2-for-4 and hit his second homer against the Dodgers on Monday.

    Advice: McCarthy’s homer was hit 106.6 mph off Eliezer Hernández, edging out his previous season high. He’s off to a pretty encouraging start offensively, hitting .283/.357/.414 in 114 plate appearances. Unfortunately, he hasn’t delivered in the stolen base department, collecting just three in 40 games, and there just isn’t much reason to think he’ll remain a factor once Alek Thomas is healthy.     Burleson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 6-3 win over the Orioles.

    Advice: Burleson upped his hitting streak to six games (12-for-25), and five of those contests have been multi-hit efforts. He also has two homers, two steals, four RBI and six runs scored in that span. Burleson isn't known for his speed -- he's at two steals in 2024, one shy of last year's mark, which he achieved in 107 games.   • Luis Rengifo swipes two bags against Astros
    Luis Rengifo had two hits and two steals against the Astros on Monday.

    Advice: The second steal saw him jam his left hand into second base, leaving him with an injured middle finger in spite of the oven mitt he was wearing.     Advice: Verdugo opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning and later knocked an RBI single. After posting an .804 OPS in his first 29 games, he's struggled in 17 games this month, going 15-for-64 (.234) with five extra-base hits.
