      Ezequiel Tovar homered while going 3-for-5 in a loss Friday to the Nationals.

      Advice: The Rockies were able to pick up three homers off DJ Herz, and Tovar hit a solo shot off Herz in the third for his 12th homer of the year. The 22-year-old shortstop has put together a very strong first half of 2024 in his second full season with a .280 average, 799 OPS and 36 RBI.       Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

      Advice: Turner has hit safely in all three games since returning from his hamstring injury yet this home run was his first extra-base hit. He smacked it 110.6 MPH off the bat, two MPH harder than he’s hit a ball all season.       Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

      Advice: Turner hit a two-run home run off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning then added an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Turner has gone 5-for-14 since returning from the injured list with a hamstring injury, and the homer was his first since April 17.       Advice: Assuming all goes well with that session, the expectation is that he’ll rejoin the Diamondbacks’ rotation next weekend against the Athletics.       Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double and a run Thursday in a 5-3 win against Colorado.

      Advice: Hernandez departed in the seventh inning of Wednesday's matchup between the clubs, but manager Dave Roberts indicated afterward that the early exit was simply for rest reasons, and the outfielder's inclusion in Thursday's lineup seems to validate that claim. Hernandez certainly didn't appear bothered by any issues in the finale of the four-game set, as he recorded his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign.       Freeman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday in a 5-3 win against Colorado.

      Advice: Freeman accounted for the Dodgers' final run of the contest with his fourth-inning solo shot to center field. The veteran first baseman is up to 11 long balls on the season, with five of them coming in June.       Fairbanks (2-3) blew a save but earned the win Thursday, allowing one run on two hits over two innings against the Twins. He struck out one.

      Advice: Fairbanks was not needed to start the ninth due to the Rays holding a four-run lead, but a leadoff homer followed by the next two runners reaching base created a save situation. After inducing a couple of quick outs, Jose Miranda tagged Fairbanks for a game-tying homer that sent the game to extras. Once the Rays regained the lead in the 10th, Fairbanks stayed in to close out his own victory. The blown save was the second of the season for Fairbanks, who ran the gamut during the series with the Twins, suffering the loss Tuesday followed by the blown save and subsequent win Thursday.
