    • Jake Burger (oblique) activated off injured list
Marlins activated INF Jake Burger (oblique) off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Burger is back after spending just under three weeks on the injured list with a left oblique strain. He returns to a .228/.281/.421 slash with three homers and 15 RBI in 16 games. He’s hitting third and playing third base Monday, and Jonah Bride was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Burger on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:39 pm

    • Back from IL
Burger (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Dodgers, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: As anticipated, Burger is back with the big club after missing the last few weeks rehabbing from a left intercostal strain. He was a big piece of the Marlins' offense before landing on the IL, recording three homers, 15 RBI and eight runs scored over his first 16 games of the 2024 season. • Expected to return Monday
Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time. • Homers in blowout win
Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year. The infielder has added a strong .286/.336/.513 slash line with 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, five doubles and two triples through 32 contests. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:05 pm

    • Jordan Westburg homers in win over Reds
Jordan Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Westburg jumped on Nick Lodolo in the first inning with a 378-foot home run that left the bat at 101.9 mph. It was Westburg’s sixth home run of the season to go along with 23 RBIs. It’s been a breakout month for the 25-year-old, but he’s seen his triple slash fall to .286/.336/.513 after going 6-for-28 over his last seven games. The quality of contact gains are real but Westburg is swinging and missing a lot more this season, so the batting average may continue to slip a little bit in the coming weeks. • Ready to go Sunday
Bohm (hip) is starting at third base and batting fifth Sunday against the Giants, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: The 27-year-old was removed from Saturday's contest due to right hip tightness but is back in the starting nine a day later. Bohm has been one of the best hitters in baseball through the first five weeks of the season with a .364/.435/.579 slash line in 34 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 1:11 pm

    • Knocks in two runs Saturday
Toro went 2-for-5 with a two-run single and three runs in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Toro extended Oakland's lead to 9-0 in the third inning with his timely single, pushing his RBI total to 13 to draw him into a tie with JJ Bleday for third place on the Athletics. The 27-year-old has been a steady offensive presence for the surprising A's, and he's now posted four consecutive two-hit tallies as part of an eight-game hitting streak overall. • Big day in extra-inning loss
Arenado went 3-for-3 with two walks and a three-run home run in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the White Sox.

Advice: The veteran third baseman took Erick Fedde deep in the fifth inning to give the Cardinals a 5-3 lead, but it didn't hold up. Arenado has recorded multiple hits in three of the last five games, and the surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .296/.362/.408 with two homers, 14 runs and 19 RBI through 33 contests. • Expected to play Sunday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Bohm (hip) will be reevaluated Sunday and expects the third baseman to be in the lineup versus the Giants, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Bohm was removed from Saturday's game versus the Giants with right hip flexor tightness, but his exit was considered precautionary and it sounds like he should be fine. The third baseman singled, was hit by a pitch and scored two runs before being lifted from Saturday's tilt. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:52 pm
