    • Allows six runs in loss
Megill (2-4) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing six runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts over three innings.

Advice: Megill allowed six baserunners and five runs in a disastrous 38-pitch first inning. He managed six strikeouts over the next two frames but also surrendered a solo home run to Christopher Morel and was replaced to open the fourth at 78 pitches. The outing was Megill's worst of the season, and he has now yielded 15 earned runs over 17.2 innings in four June starts. He owns a 4.81 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB through 33.2 innings in 2024 and lines up to face the Astros next week. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

    • Active early in win
Suzuki went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Suzuki opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning then stole second and scored in the same frame. He later added a double in the fifth. Suzuki is slashing .292/.395/.523 with seven-multi hit efforts in 65 June at-bats. The 29-year-old is contributing a bit of everything this season, slashing .269/.347/.461 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, 27 runs scored and seven steals through 197 at-bats. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

    • Earns first career win
Thorpe (1-1) earned the win against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out five over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Thorpe threw the best start of his major-league career, earning his first win in the process. He leaned on his changeup, throwing it 38 times and generating an impressive 10 swinging strikes on the pitch. The rookie did walk four batters after yielding five free passes June 16 and owns an unimpressive 9:11 K:BB with a 5.02 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 14.1 innings with the White Sox. He lines up for a home matchup with Atlanta next week. Rotowire.com Today, 5:32 pm

    • Daulton Varsho (back) will not play on Sunday
Blue Jays’ manager John Schneider told reporters after Saturday’s game that Daulton Varsho has been dealing with some tightness in his lower back and will be held out of the team’s starting lineup on Sunday.

Advice: The 27-year-old played the entire game on Saturday but reported to his manager afterwards that his back had tightened up on him. It doesn’t sound like anything that should lead to any sort of extended absence and there’s even a possibility that Varsho could be available to pinch-hit off the bench on Sunday. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Today, 4:18 pm

    • Has back soreness, off Sunday
Varsho experienced back tightness late in Saturday's game against the Guardians and will be given the day off for Sunday's series finale, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Advice: Varsho grounded out in the ninth inning but never made it out of the batters box, immediately grabbing at his lower back after making contact. Though the injury doesn't seem of much concern, Varsho will be held out of Sunday's contest. Varsho went 0-for-4 with a strikeout during Saturday's 6-3 loss. Rotowire.com Today, 4:06 pm

    • Harper blasts 18th home run, has four hits in win
Bryce Harper went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Harper’s home run was his 18th of the year. He blasted a two-run shot into the second deck in right field off Arizona starter Tommy Henry in the third inning. Harper now has a seven-game hitting streak and three home runs in his last three games. He’s up to .294 with a .951 OPS and 51 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm

    • Tyler Soderstrom hits solo homer in blowout loss
Tyler Soderstrom hit a solo homer in a blowout loss to the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Even in a blowout loss, Soderstrom was able to impress as he has for the overwhelming majority of June. What was a slash of .182/.308/.318 coming into the month now sits at .250/.353/.480, and the blast was his sixth homer of the season. Soderstrom was a first-round pick for a reason, and he deserves some attention from those who need help at the corner-infield spot. Rotoworld Today, 3:43 pm

    • Bailey Ober hurls complete game with 10 strikeouts
Bailey Ober threw all nine innings while allowing just two runs with 10 strikeouts in a 10-2 rout for the Twins over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Ober gave up a pair of solo homers, and outside of those roundtrippers the 28-year-old was brilliant. He didn’t walk anyone, and even with 10 strikeouts, the right-hander needed only 89 pitches for the complete game. The A’s offense is ever-so-beatable, but credit Ober for another fantastic pitching performance against Oakland. He’s lined up to face the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. • Tylor Megill lit up for six runs in loss to Cubs
Tylor Megill was shelled for six runs over three innings on Saturday in a loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Megill’s fastball velocity was down noticeably in this outing, which undoubtedly led to him getting roughed up pretty good. Here’s an oversimplification: Megill leans havily on his four-seam fastball, so any time he’s below 95 mph, which was the case in this one, he’s going to get hit pretty hard. He surrendered five hits, including a gargantuan solo shot to Christopher Morel, and only managed to complete three frames. He struck out six and also issued three walks. He’ll bring an underwhelming 4.81 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43/16 K/BB ratio across 33 2/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing next Saturday against the Astros. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm
