He was thrown out attempting a fifth steal in the seventh inning of Thursday’s showdown at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The 22-year-old burgeoning fantasy superstar is still striking out 30 percent of the time, but some improved plate discipline has enabled him to reach base more frequently this season and show off his field-tilting speed. He’s batting .277/.378/.516 with 35 runs scored, nine homers, 22 RBI and 30 steals following the first four-steal performance of his career out in Los Angeles.       Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored against the Athletics on Thursday.

      Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a bases-clearing double in the third inning off Joey Estes and the route was on from there. He hit 23 home runs in 104 games last year, but his power is noticeably down this year. His .119 ISO is well below his .256 ISO from last year. Diaz doesn’t walk often, but has cut his strikeout percentage to 13 percent so far this year.     • Diaz blows back-to-back saves
      Edwin Diaz blew another save against the Phillies on Thursday.



      Advice: Three days after blowing his second save of the season, Diaz blew another save opportunity against the Phillies. Pitching with a one-run lead, Diaz walked Brandon Marsh to start the ninth inning. Marsh advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Bryson Stott. All three of Diaz’ blown saves have come in the month of May. Once an elite closer, Diaz is showing the rust of someone who missed an entire season with a knee injury.

      Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Thursday for Triple-A Norfolk.

      Advice: Holliday has made some subtle tweaks to his batting stance since returning to the minors and is batting .240/.424/.420 with two homers and two steals in 14 contests since the start of May for Triple-A Norfolk. More impressively, he’s drawn 16 walks and only struck out 15 times during that span. The precocious 20-year-old top prospect is going to get another chance in the majors at some point, but it doesn’t sound like the Orioles are going to rush him back.       Dominguez (elbow) is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre once he's activated from the 60-day injured list after his 20-day rehab window concludes, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

      Advice: Dominguez began a rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Tuesday as he comes back from Tommy John surgery. He will serve as the designated hitter for 10-to-14 days before eventually playing the outfield. The 21-year-old needs time to knock some rust off since he went eight months without playing games, so he'll likely need longer than the 20-day rehab allotment before he becomes an option for the Yankees. Additionally, the Yankees are happy with their current outfield situation, so there's not room for Dominguez to take on a regular role right now, barring injury. Dominguez is still a worthy stash in fantasy leagues given his upside, but it's possible it might not be until 2025 when he gets another extended run with the big club.       Webb (4-4) earned the win over the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing three hits and three walks over six shutout innings while striking out five.

      Advice: Webb allowed three of the first four batters to reach base in the opening frame but managed to work his way out of the jam, getting two of the three outs by way of strikeout. The right-hander would allow just two walks and two singles from that point on en route to earning his fourth win of the season, snapping a three-game losing skid. Webb has now hurled six or more shutout innings in three of his last six starts, posting a 30:12 K:BB over that stretch. He's also logged quality starts in seven of his 10 outings this season.
