Player Notes

  • Adrian Gonzalez exits with sinus infection
Adrian Gonzalez exited Tuesday's loss to the Padres due to a sinus infection.

Advice: Gonzalez saw two at-bats before being lifted. He should be considered day-to-day moving forward, but there is little reason to believe this will cost him more than a game or two. If that. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:50 pm
  • Jefry Marte clubs grand slam in win over A's
Jefry Marte went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Tuesday's 8-1 win over the A's

Advice: Marte stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out in the fourth inning. Facing off against Daniel Mengden, he proceeded to launch a 405-foot bomb to dead central to jump the Angels to a 5-0 lead. That was more than enough for a game Ricky Nolasco. In addition to the granny, Marte also picked up a double. He has done a nice job in a complementary role this season, hitting .251/.307/.461 with 13 homers and 42 RBI over 243 at-bats. • Freeman homers, extends hitting streak to 29
Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with a solo homer to extend his hitting streak to 29 games in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

Advice: The first baseman's longball in the fourth inning off of Jerad Eickhoff extended the hit streak, and Freeman added a walk and a single, scoring three runs on the night. He's also reached base in 45 straight contests, a streak that extends back to August 5. Freeman's batting line this season is up to .307/.404/.576. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm
  • Ryan Howard belts 15th career grand slam
Ryan Howard hit his 15th career grand slam in Tuesday's loss to the Braves.

Advice: Howard followed a couple singles and a walk in the first inning with a long one to right field off of Julio Teheran. He also added a single in a later at-bat. Howard's .196/.259/.453 batting line is awfully ugly, but he's still hitting balls over the boards with 24 home runs. It's his highest home run total since 2011. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm
  • Carter cranks 39th homer in loss to Rangers
Chris Carter went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Carter lifted off against Rangers starter A.J. Griffin the first inning for the two-run blast. He's now just one homer shy of 40, and his 39 homers, 92 RBI and 81 runs scored are all personal bests for the 29-year-old. In the National League, only Nolan Arenado has more homers than Carter with a handful of games left to play. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm
