    • Buster Posey went 2-for-4 with a homer in the Giants' 2-1 win against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Advice: If you're one of those owners with a meticulous nature, you may have known that Posey against Arizona starter Josh Collmenter was one of the best matchups on the board tonight. Long story short, it cashed, and Posey is now 11-for-18 (.611) with three home runs and a double lifetime against Collmenter. Posey also came into tonight batting .408 with 12 RBI in his last 13 games at Chase Field.

    • Buster Posey went 1-for-4 with an RBI as the Giants fell to the Diamondbacks 6-2 on Monday.
Advice: He has hit safely in six straight. Posey has knocked in 27 of his 86 RBI in his last 23 games. He's been particularly hot in the season's final month, going 22-for-49 (.449) with two homers and 14 RBI in September. The catcher typically feasts on Rattler pitchers, coming into this one hitting .375 with 17 RBI in his last 18 against Arizona. He's slashing .311/.362/.488 with 20 homers.

    • Buster Posey went 3-for-5 with an RBI as the Giants beat the Diamondbacks 6-2 on Thursday.
Advice: It would have been a four-hit day if not for a nice play in the eighth. Even so, Posey is hitting .472 in 36 at-bats this month and .371 with eight homers and 28 RBI in 143 at-bats since the beginning of August.

    • Buster Posey finished 0-for-4 but still drove in a pair of runs in the Giants' 5-1 win against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Advice: He grounded into an RBI fielder's choice in the second inning, and lifted a sacrifice fly to left in the sixth to score Angel Pagan. Posey adores Arizona pitching. Even though he didn't hit safely tonight, he came into this game batting .390 with three homers and 14 RBI in his last 15 games versus the Snakes. It wasn't a surprise he scratched out an RBI against Wade Miley, against whom he entered 9-for-20 with a homer and three doubles lifetime.

    • Ike Davis doubled and hit a three-run home run in four at-bats as the Pirates polished off a 9-1 victory against the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Advice: It's the first baseman's first multi-hit game since August 3 and his first homer since August 27. The fifth-inning three-run blast extended the Pirates' lead to 9-1 so it was effectively meaningless. Davis has hit 10 long balls since joining the Pirates while knocking in 44 runs and slashing .235/.345/.378.

    • Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-5 with two doubles Wednesday in the loss to the Twins.
Advice: He finally made an out in the ninth when he flew out to the warning track. Cabrera's doubles were the Tigers' only extra-base hits of the night. He now has 48 doubles, just two shy of his career high from way back in 2005.

    • Torii Hunter and Miguel Cabrera hit back-to-back homers in the top of the ninth as the Tigers beat the Twins 8-6 on Monday.
Advice: The Tigers threw away a 6-0 lead before Hunter and Cabrera powered them back on top off Casey Fein. Cabrera ended up 3-for-5 with three runs scored, collecting his 23rd homer and his 46th double. He's hitting .436 with six homers and 11 RBI in 55 at-bats this month.

    • Miguel Cabrera is serving as the Tigers' designated hitter on Monday against the Royals.
Advice: Tigers manager Brad Ausmus acknowledged Sunday night that Cabrera has bone spurs in his right ankle, but that was just after Cabrera had led Detroit to a 6-1 victory over the Giants with a homer and three RBI. Cabrera is going to continue playing through the discomfort before considering surgical options this winter.
