Player Notes

  • Mike Trout goes 3-for-4, homers
Mike Trout went 3-for-4 with a homer, a triple and three RBI against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: The Angels had six hits in the loss, all of them coming from Kole Calhoun and Trout. At least they were hitting back-to-back, so the Angels did manage three rubs. It wasn't enough, though. Trout now has 32 homers in 99 games, leaving him just four shy of last year's career high. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:13 am
  • Jungmann takes loss against Cubs
Taylor Jungmann fell to the Cubs on Friday after giving up three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings.

Advice: Jungmann threw a career-high 112 pitches. While he failed to make it out of the sixth inning, he pitched fairly well, allowing seven hits and two walks while notching seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old has held his own during his first stint in the majors, posting a 2.23 ERA and 53/21 K/BB ratio in 64 2/3 innings over 10 starts. However, we're still a bit hesitant about trusting him in mixed fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:17 pm
  • Rizzo homers in win over Brewers
Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk, and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Brewers.

Advice: Rizzo has now gone deep in each of the last three games. The 25-year-old had just one home run in 31 games prior to this recent power surge. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:16 pm
  • Harper ejected from Friday's game
Bryce Harper was ejected from Friday's game against the Mets in the 11th inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Jerry Meals' strike zone was questionable, but Harper pushed things too far and got himself kicked out of the game. It forced the Nationals to use Dan Uggla at first base and Ryan Zimmerman in the outfield. Harper went 0-for-5 with a strikeout before exiting. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:03 pm
  • Escobar has RBI single in loss to Mets
Yunel Escobar drove in the Nationals' only run of the night Friday against the Mets.

Advice: His eighth-inning single off Matt Harvey tied the game, but the Mets eventually won in extras. Escobar went 1-for-5 on the night and has a .312/.360/.410 batting line on the year. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:02 pm
