    • According to ESPN New York's Adam Rubin, the Mets are likely to make a change at closer.
Advice: Valverde surrendered three runs Saturday against the Braves in his latest of a string of rough outings. Mets manager Terry Collins said he would address his players before making an official announcement to the media. Vic Black has been putting up zeroes at Triple-A, but his control is still an issue. The Mets might go with a committee.

    • Mets manager Terry Collins said he's sticking with Jose Valverde as his closer.
Advice: Collins was pressed about his closer situation after Valverde allowed two home runs in the ninth inning of Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks. It was the second straight outing in which Valverde served up a homer, and he's allowed five runs over his past two appearances. The 36-year-old may still be the go-to guy for now, but his leash can't be too terribly long at this point.

    • Trevor Rosenthal persevered through a shaky ninth inning Saturday against the Nationals to lock down his fifth save of the season.
Advice: After entering the bottom of the ninth inning with a two-run lead, Rosenthal got Nate McLouth to pop out to first base for the first out. However, he then walked Zach Walters before he was hit with a comebacker and made a late throw to second base while trying to force the lead runner. Making matters worse, he then balked to move both runners into scoring position. While the Nationals cut the lead to one run with a ground out by Kevin Frandsen, Rosenthal struck out Jayson Werth swinging with a 99 mph fastball to end it. Things have been bumpier than expected for Rosenthal in the early going, giving up seven runs in 9 1/3 innings, but he still has a chance to emerge as a top fantasy closer this year.
