  • Gallo strikes out 4 times with a 3-run triple
Joey Gallo went 1-for-5 with four strikeouts and a three-run triple as the Rangers trampled the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: Gallo's all-or-nothing approach continues. His three-run triple came in the seventh, officially turning Monday's win into a laugher. The four strikeouts bring him up to 43 in 98 plate appearances, a 44 percent strikeout rate. Gallo owns a .218/.306/.448 batting line with five home runs and 13 RBI since debuting on June 2.

  • De Aza logs three more hits in a Red Sox win
Alejandro De Aza stayed hot, going 3-for-4 with a triple in Monday's win versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: De Aza entered the evening having homered in three of his last four ballgames, but settled for a three-hit affair. He's on a five-game hitting streak and has been an offensive dynamo since coming over to the Red Sox at the beginning of the month. On the season, which includes his time with the Orioles, he's hitting .253/.303/.458 with six home runs and 18 RBI.

  • Cingrani (shoulder) to begin rehab Saturday
Tony Cingrani (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Advice: If all goes well, he could be back with the Reds by the All-Star break. The 25-year-old went on the disabled list earlier this month with a strained left shoulder. All 24 of Cingrani's appearances this year have come out of the bullpen.

  • Eury Perez leaves Sunday's game with injury
Eury Perez left Sunday's game against the Pirates after colliding with Cameron Maybin in left field.

Advice: Both players were going after a fly ball hit by Jordy Mercer in the ninth inning. After staying on the ground for several minutes, Perez was replaced by Joey Terdoslavich. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Perez injured his torso but his head is fine. Maybin didn't suffer an injury and stayed in the game. Perez is day-to-day.

  • Red Sox could keep three catchers
The Red Sox could keep three catchers when Ryan Hanigan (hand) returns from the disabled list on Wednesday.

Advice: Sandy Leon would seem to be the odd man out but he'd have to clear waivers to go to the minor leagues, which would give other teams a chance to claim him. The Red Sox don't have much catching depth with Christian Vasquez out for the season and Humberto Quintero on Triple-A Pawtucket's disabled list. Leon hasn't provided much offense (.160 in 75 at-bats) but he's been Boston's best defensive catcher.
