  • Morton can't manage quality start vs COL
Charlie Morton fell to 8-5 in Sunday's loss to the Rockies, surrendering five runs (three earned) over six innings.

Advice: Morton scattered six hits while striking out six and walking two, with three runs scoring in the fourth and another two in the sixth. This marks two stinkers in a row for the veteran right-hander, who has now allowed 10 runs in his last 11 1/3 innings. For the season, he's pitching to a 4.22 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. A tough Saturday afternoon road outing against the Cardinals shows next on his schedule. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:39 pm
  • Familia squeezes out of trouble for 35th save
Jeurys Familia worked out of his own jam to pick up his 35th save in Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Red Sox.

Advice: Familia allowed back-to-back singles to open up the ninth inning, but struck out Alejandro De Aza, got Travis Shaw to ground into a fielder's choice, and struck out Mookie Betts to end the game. The right-hander is 35-for-40 in save chances this year with a superb 1.67 ERA and a 68/15 K/BB ratio in 64 2/3 innings. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:24 pm
  • Machi supplants Tazawa as Red Sox closer
Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo said Sunday that Jean Machi has overtaken Junichi Tazawa as the club's closer.

Advice: It comes as no surprise, as Tazawa was pulled from a save opportunity on Friday and then Machi nailed down a save on Saturday. Machi is certainly no cinch in the role given his 5.21 ERA on the season, but obviously he needs to be owned in fantasy leagues while he's being used in the ninth inning. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:32 am
  • Ryan Hanigan (calf) sitting out again Sunday
Ryan Hanigan (calf) remained out of the Red Sox' lineup Sunday.

Advice: He's missed two straight starts with a tight calf, although it's not believed to be serious. Blake Swihart is catching in Hanigan's place again Sunday. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:05 am
  • Aaron Hicks to return as corner outfielder
Aaron Hicks (hamstring) will be used as a corner outfielder when he returns from the disabled list.

Advice: Hicks began a rehab assignment Saturday and should be activated at some point this week. There's no spot for him in center field with Byron Buxton around, but Hicks was really playing well before getting hurt and should be in the lineup regularly. The odd man out could be Torii Hunter, who has been receiving a lot of days off of late and is down to .232/.290/.401 for the season. "People are excited to see the day when Buxton, Hicks and (Eddie) Rosario are out there together," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "We’ll have to figure it out day-to-day, what gives us the best chance to win a game." Rotoworld.com Today, 6:47 am
