Player Notes

  • Frazier doubles twice in loss to Brewers
Todd Frazier went 4-for-5 with two doubles in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Frazier's two doubles gave him 24 for the season, a fantastic indication of just how well he's been hitting. For comparison's sake, Frazier's career-high for doubles was 29 in 2013. That number should be bypassed soon enough. From the wider angle, he's currently hitting .289/.348/.610 with 25 home runs, 54 RBI and eight steals. Rotoworld.com

  • Jonathan Schoop (knee) activated from DL
Orioles activated Jonathan Schoop (knee) from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: He rejoined the Orioles in Chicago Saturday after completing a 10-game rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie and High-A Frederick. The 23-year-old hit .259 in nine games before a sprained PCL sent him to the disabled list in mid-April. Ryan Flaherty was optioned in the corresponding roster move. Rotoworld.com

  • Bogaerts has two hits, two RBI vs. Astros
Xander Bogaerts was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk against the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Bogaerts had an RBI single in the first inning before knocking in another run with a double in the fifth. He's hitting .375 over his last 13 games and has raised his overall line to .302/.340/.416 on the year. Rotoworld.com

  • Justin Turner not in Dodgers lineup Saturday
Justin Turner is not in the Dodgers starting lineup on Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: It doesn't appear to be anything other than a routine day of rest for Turner. Alberto Callaspo will draw the start at third base and hit seventh against right-hander Matt Harvey on Saturday. Rotoworld.com

  • Miguel Cabrera expected to miss six weeks
Miguel Cabrera is expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a grade 3 left calf strain.

Advice: The Tigers had hoped that he would be ready to return shortly after the All-Star break, but it appears that the All-Star slugger will be on the shelf until late August. It will be interesting to see if the Tigers look to acquire a bat to replace Cabrera in the lineup, or if his untimely injury will force Dave Dombrowski to become a seller at the trade deadline.
