  • Dodgers acquire OF Heisey from Blue Jays
Dodgers acquired OF Chris Heisey from the Blue Jays for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Advice: Heisey signed with the Blue Jays last month after the Dodgers released him, but now he's back with the organization. The 30-year-old is 4-for-26 (.154) in 17 games at the major league level this season. The Dodgers said in their announcement that the deal was done Monday night (before the August 31 waiver deadline), which means that he would be eligible for the postseason. • Mets call up INF/OF Eric Campbell
Mets recalled INF/OF Eric Campbell from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: Campbell received significant playing time with the Mets earlier this season, but he didn't do much with the opportunity, batting just .179/.301/.276 in 187 plate appearances. Now that the Mets have David Wright back and Juan Uribe in the fold, he's not likely to see the field much. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:57 am
  • Grichuk (elbow) hits indoors Monday
Randal Grichuk (elbow) hit indoors in the cage Monday for the first time since landing on the disabled list.

Advice: Grichuk, who has been sidelined since August 16 with a right elbow sprain, plans to hit again on Tuesday and start throwing later this week. "It felt good," said Grichuk. "(But) I didn’t feel anything hitting when I hurt it." He's still hoping to return at some point this month. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:45 am

  • Byrd knocks in 3 runs but Giants lose in 14
Marlon Byrd went 2-for-6 with a double and three RBI, but the Giants suffered a 14-inning, 5-4 loss to the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Byrd singled and knocked in two runs to break a 1-1 tie in the third inning, then added a game-tying RBI double in the eighth inning. It would be the last run either team would score until the Dodgers broke through in the 14th. Byrd, since joining the Giants, is batting .286 (12-for-42) with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, and 17 RBI. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:53 am

Matt Kemp went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base as the Padres shut out the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Kemp drove in a run in the third inning with a double. In the sixth, he walked, stole second, and shortly thereafter came around to score. The outfielder is hitting .265/.312/.424 with 16 home runs, 81 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:08 pm
