    • Earns seventh straight win
Rodon (9-2) earned the win against the Royals on Monday, allowing one run on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Rodon cruised through the majority of the game, with a two-out RBI single by Freddy Fermin in the seventh inning being his only blemish. While Rodon only struck out three, he generated 14 swinging strikes and didn't allow any extra-base hits. Each of Rodon's seven consecutive wins have also been quality starts, and he has now completed at least six innings in 10 of his 14 outings. He owns a 2.93 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 74:20 K:BB on the season and will look to continue his win streak against the Red Sox on Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:04 pm
    • Carlos Rodón picks up ninth win Monday vs. Royals
Carlos Rodón allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Yankees’ 4-2 victory over the Royals on Monday.

Advice: Rodón gave up five hits, walked none and struck out three to collect his ninth win of the year and lower his ERA to 2.93 in the process. The 31-year-old lefty hasn’t been the big-time strikeout artist from previous years, but he’s reinvented himself this season after a poor Yankees debut last year. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Red Sox on the road this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:51 pm
    • Anthony Rizzo remains on bench versus Royals
Anthony Rizzo is on the bench again Monday for the series opener against the Royals.

Advice: The Yankees have opted for DJ LeMahieu at first and Oswaldo Cabrera at third for a second straight game tonight. They also could use Cabrera in right field tonight with Juan Soto DHing and Aaron Judge sitting, but they opted to give Jahmai Jones a very rare start in that spot. • Held out again Monday
Rizzo is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone had indicated the struggling Rizzo would receive a second straight day off, and that's exactly what will happen. Rizzo has just one hit over his last 29 at-bats. DJ LeMahieu will handle first base Monday while Oswaldo Cabrera plays third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:29 pm

    • Returns to lineup at DH
Soto (forearm) will start at designated hitter and bat second Monday in Kansas City, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Soto missed the previous three contests with left forearm inflammation but is feeling well enough to return to action for the start of the Yankees' series against the Royals. He will be eased into action at DH, and it's possible the team will keep him there for a bit in order to protect his forearm. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:19 pm

    • Juan Soto (forearm) returns to lineup as DH
Juan Soto is in the lineup as a designated hitter Monday after missing three games due to forearm inflammation.

Advice: It’s Soto’s first time DHing this season; he had been in right field in all 64 of his starts for the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Report: Yankees not ready to give up on Rizzo
According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees “are not ready to give up on [Anthony Rizzo] just yet.”

Advice: Rizzo was out of the starting lineup on Sunday and reportedly will be again on Monday. The 34-year-old has been struggling mightily this year. As Rosenthal points out, Rizzo’s .284 slugging percentage against starting pitching is the lowest in the majors, and “since 2022 his .235 batting average against fastballs is the second lowest, ahead of only the Blue Jays’ Daulton Varsho.” Considering that Rizzo is now playing below-average defense at first base, it seems logical for the Yankees to look for an upgrade. Still, manager Aaron Boone has not been willing to admit as much. “There’s no question over the last two, three weeks especially, it’s been a little bit of a struggle,” Boone said. “When you’re going through it and making little adjustments, they don’t always take right away.” Considering Rizzo is hitting .231/.323/.413 since the beginning of 2022 with a 111 wRC+, it’s now been a few years since he’s really given the Yankees’ lineup much. If they want to compete for a World Series this year, Boone may need to be open to a change at first base. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 am

    • Monster day at plate
O'Hoppe went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, a steal and three runs scored in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Astros.

Advice: O'Hoppe tallied his second four-hit game of the season and also managed to swipe his first base of the year. Most of his damage came in the later innings, as he scored all three of his runs over the final four frames. He saved his biggest hit of the day for last, as he took Josh Hader deep on the first pitch he saw to walk things off for the Angels and cap off an excellent offensive showing. O'Hoppe is now riding a mini four-game hit streak and has eight hits over that span. After his monstrous performance, the 24-year-old backstop is slashing .269/.322/.446 with eight homers, 28 RBI, 27 runs and a 13:51 BB:K in 209 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:19 am

    • Performance picking up in June
Arozarena went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Orioles.

Advice: Arozarena delivered an RBI single in the sixth inning and recorded his second multi-hit game in his last three starts. He's hit well across seven games in June, going 8-for-22 with an RBI and three runs scored. Arozarena still has a disappointing .614 OPS across 260 plate appearances, though he has still managed eight home runs and seven stolen bases across 63 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:22 am
