    • Freddie Freeman homers, swipes bag to lead Dodgers
Freddie Freeman homered, swiped a base and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, leading the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Freeman was the second member of the Dodgers’ lineup to victimize Austin Gomber in the opening inning, clobbering a 396-foot (104.1 mph EV) solo shot just off of the outstretched glove of Brenton Doyle to increase the Dodgers’ early lead to 2-0. The 34-year-old superstar then led off the third inning with a walk, swiped second base and scored on an RBI knock by Miguel Rojas. Freeman also plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. For the season, he’s slashing .293/.399/.477 to go along with seven homers, 35 RBI and just two stolen bases. • Ends slump Sunday
Garver went 2-for-4 with a three-run double in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Garver entered Sunday 0-for-20 over his last seven games. His last extra-base hit was May 21, and he hadn't knocked in a run since May 17. He was able to put an end to all of those slumps, delivering a big knock in the eighth inning to give the Mariners some breathing room. The 33-year-old has struggled to get anything going at the plate this year, slashing .170/.276/.309 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored and eight doubles over 192 plate appearances as Seattle's primary designated hitter. • Mitch Garver plates three as Mariners top Angels
Mitch Garver went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, helping to lead the Mariners to victory over the visiting Angels.

Advice: Garver gave the Mariners quite a bit of breathing room with his bases-clearing three-run double off of Luis Garcia in the eighth inning — increasing the M’s advantage to 5-0. With his two-hit attack, the 33-year-old backstop is now hitting .170/.276/.309 with five homers and 17 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:43 pm

    • Homer, steal in win
Freeman went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, three walks, two RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Freeman went yard in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The three walks he drew Sunday matched his total of free passes from his previous 13 games. Freeman's at a 13.4 percent walk rate on the year, to go along with an equally impressive 16.0 percent walks rate. The first baseman has a .293/.399/.477 slash line with seven homers, 35 RBI, 35 runs scored, two steals, 16 doubles and two triples over 61 contests. While his numbers are down pretty much across the board, Freeman remains one of the most consistent hitters in baseball in the heart of a powerful lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:27 pm

    • Twins likely to option Edouard Julien to Triple-A
The Twins are expected to option struggling infielder Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul prior to Tuesday’s series opener against the Yankees in New York.

Advice: The 25-year-old infielder had a closed-door meeting with skipper Rocco Baldelli after Sunday’s game and was then seen getting hugs and handshakes from teammates. Take that as you will, but someone needs to be sent out to make room for the return of Royce Lewis on Tuesday and all signs point to Julien. He’s hitting just .207/.309/.367 on the season, though he does have seven homers, 17 RBI and six stolen bases. Fantasy managers who may have been relying on him for next week should make other arrangements. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:18 pm

    • Demotion could be coming
Julien had a meeting with manager Rocco Baldelli and subsequently met with teammates after Sunday's win over the Astros, which could indicate the second baseman is headed to Triple-A St. Paul as Royce Lewis (quadriceps) is set to return from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athleticreports.

Advice: Julien hit out of the No. 9 hole Sunday and went 0-for-2 with a walk, which dropped his season slash line to .207/.309/.367 through 58 games. The 25-year-old has a 34 percent strikeout rate this year, and the return of Lewis provides an opportunity for Julien to get back on track in a lower-pressure environment. The Twins have yet to make an official announcement regarding Lewis and who he'll replace on the MLB roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:12 pm

    • Cruises to 10th save
Duran tossed a clean ninth, striking out one to pick up his 10th save of the season Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: After allowing a total of six baserunners and three unearned runs over his last three appearances totaling 2.1 innings, Duran ran into no such trouble Sunday, retiring the Astros in order to collect his 10th save in as many attempts. Though he's yet to blow a save since making his season debut April 30, Duran has not been as dominant with an 8.4 K/9 compared with rates of 11.8 and 12.1 over his first two big-league seasons. • Jhoan Duran gets 10th save against Astros
Jhoan Duran earned his 10th save with a perfect ninth against the Astros on Sunday.

Advice: Duran typically throws his 100-mph fastball 45 percent of the time, but he used it just once in a 17-pitch outing today. He struck out one and got a couple of routine outs while focusing on his curve and splinker. He’s now earned saves in seven straight appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm
    • Abrams scratched again Sunday against Guardians
CJ Abrams was scratched from Sunday’s lineup against the Guardians due to illness.

Advice: Never mind. Abrams was scratched Saturday due to illness, and the infielder was back in the lineup Sunday originally only to have the same thing occur. The infielder should be considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas is starting at shortstop in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am
