    • Fires seven innings
Webb (5-5) allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rangers.

Advice: Webb kept Texas off the board for four frames before the Rangers plated two runs in the fifth inning. Outside of that inning, he allowed just one baserunner. Webb threw seven innings in his last outing but saw his streak of four straight quality starts come to an end. With Friday's quality start in the books, he has 10 in his 14 appearances this season. Webb will carry a 2.92 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be at home against Houston next week. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Sale strikes out 10 in loss to Nationals Friday
Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week. • Rebounds in losing effort
Sale (8-2) took the loss Friday against the Nationals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: It was a strong bounce-back effort from Sale after he surrendered eight runs against Oakland in his last start. However, Atlanta couldn't get on the board until the eighth inning in an eventual 2-1 defeat. Sale now has eight or more strikeouts in six of his last seven outings. His ERA sits at 3.01 with a 0.94 WHIP and 92:11 K:BB across 12 starts (74.2 innings) this year. Sale's currently in line for a road matchup with the Orioles in his next outing. • Lacks command in loss
Gray (7-4) allowed three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: The four walks were a season high for Gray, and he also uncorked two wild pitches, one of which allowed a run to score in the fifth inning. Gray's control issues have manifested with five straight starts where he's allowed multiple walks, and he's failed to complete six innings in any of his last four outings. The right-hander is now at a 3.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 82:19 K:BB over 61.2 innings through 11 starts this season. Gray is projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. • Gray allows three in loss Thursday
Sonny Gray allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked four and struck out five. It was an uneven start for Gray, who threw 89 pitches. He had two wild pitches, one of which allowed a run to score. Gray also had a pitch clock violation. While his ERA increased to 3.21 on the year, his xFIP is much lower at 2.64. The 34-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back against the Pirates at home next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:51 pm

    • MRI reveals bone spur in Joe Musgrove’s elbow
Joe Musgrove underwent an MRI that revealed a bone spur and contusion in his right elbow.

Advice: Musgrove, who landed on the injured list last weekend with right elbow inflammation, received both a PRP and cortisone injections to address the issue and hopes to resume throwing in roughly two weeks. The 31-year-old righty told reporters arthroscopic surgery is possible if the issue doesn’t improve, but that’s not being considered as an option for now. He’ll go the rest-and-rehabilitation route in an effort to get back on the mound for San Diego in a couple weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:45 pm

    • Diagnosed with bone spur
Musgrove has been diagnosed with a bone spur and a bone bruise in his right elbow, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Musgrove got PRP and cortisone injections with the hope of resuming throwing in two weeks. However, there is also the caveat that surgery will be required if healing does not occur. That leaves Musgrove's potential timeline to return to the mound unclear, though it would be surprising to see him back on the mound prior to the All-Star break based on this most recent news. • Five Ks in second rehab start
Williams (elbow) struck out five over 2.1 innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks Tuesday in his second rehab start with Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: After covering just one inning and tossing 32 pitches while giving up two runs in his first rehab start with Columbus last Thursday, Williams upped his pitch count to 46 (29 strikes) Tuesday. Williams' control has wavered a bit over his first two rehab outings, but so long as he avoids any further setbacks with his right elbow, he should remain on track to return from the 60-day injured list at some point later this month. He'll likely require two more rehab starts before he's ready to make his 2024 debut for the Guardians. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:37 am

    • Tagged for nine runs
Luzardo (2-5) took the loss Tuesday against the Rays, allowing nine runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Luzardo got off to a solid start Tuesday, holding Tampa scoreless through his first three innings. However, he'd surrender four runs in the fourth, including three on a Brandon Lowe homer, before the Rays would proceed to put up a five-spot in the fifth. It was a career-worst outing for Luzardo, who came into the day with a 1.99 ERA over his previous five starts. His season ERA shot up from 4.18 to 5.30 with a 1.25 WHIP and 52:18 K:BB across 56 innings this season. Luzardo will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for this weekend at home versus the Guardians. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:12 pm
