• Hitless in first rehab game
Mendick (back) went 0-for-5 with a walk in his first rehab game Tuesday with Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Mendick served as Charlotte's designated hitter, so he'll presumably need to resume playing the infield at some point during his rehab assignment before the White Sox bring him back from the 10-day injured list, perhaps as soon as this weekend. Following his promotion from Charlotte on April 22, Mendick had briefly settled into a near-everyday role at third base, but it's unclear if he'll recapture a regular starting gig once activated. Prospect Bryan Ramos (quadricep) has since settled in as Chicago's third baseman, and the organization could be inclined to let him continue playing regularly. Rotowire.com Today, 6:20 am

  • Walks off Rays
Gonzalez went 1-for-1 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Rays.

Advice: Gonzalez, who entered as a pinch runner for Dominic Smith in the 10th inning, stayed in the game to play first base, then delivered the game-winning run in the 12th with a single just inside the line in right field. The utility infielder has been a serviceable piece for manager Alex Cora, who has deployed him at shortstop and first base, positions where Boston's regulars have suffered significant injuries. Gonzalez has hit safely in six of eight games, going 6-for-19 (.316) with two steals, one RBI and two runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:39 am

  • Begins hitting, fielding
Perdomo (knee) has started to take live at-bats, hit in the cages and field ground balls, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: Perdomo, who's putting in five-to-seven hours per day while rehabbing at Salt River Fields, expressed optimism that he'll return by the end of the month. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo is not ready to put a timeline on the shortstop's return, but acknowledged Perdomo looks good executing the work he's currently doing. Next up, per the manager, is getting spikes on Perdomo's feet and having him run, cut, make turns and the agility to start and stop. Rotowire.com Today, 3:14 am

  • Swats two-run homer
Gonzales went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: It took Gonzales just five games since being called up from Triple-A to notch a home run, tagging Joe Ross for a two-run shot in the fourth inning. While Tuesday's tilt marked Gonzales' second multi-RBI game this year, he's yet to generate multiple hits in a single game and is slashing .214/.267/.429 with a stolen base in 16 plate appearances. • Luis Guillorme goes 1-for-5 in loss to Cards
Luis Guillorme finished 1-for-5 and failed to get his bat on a suicide squeeze called by manager Ron Washington in the Angels’ one-run loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: It was a bad call from Washington and an incredibly difficult pitch to bunt for Guillorme, being that it was almost a foot off the plate, but Washington trashed Guillorme after the game, taking no responsibility for his decision and hanging Guillorme out to dry. Unless Washington cools down and reconsiders that stance, Guillorme might not play as much going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

  • Romy Gonzalez has game-winning single vs Rays
Romy Gonzalez had a game-winning single in the 12th inning to carry the Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the Rays.

Advice: Gonzalez had entered as a pinch runner for Dominic Smith in the 10th inning and got his first at-bat in the 12th when he laced what would have been a double down the first base line for the game-winning hit. The versatile infielder had started four of five games since coming off the IL, going 4-for-14 with one run and two SBs heading into Tuesday night. His ability to play all over the diamond will keep him in the lineup semi-regularly in the coming weeks. That could make him useful in AL-only formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:35 pm

  • Nick Gonzales hits first homer of season vs. MIL
Nick Gonzales went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Gonzales homered in the fourth inning to score Connor Joe, giving the Pirates their first runs on the afternoon. Offense was hard to come by for the Pirates in this one, as they were held to just three hits on the night in the losing effort. Gonzales has appeared in just four games this season since being recalled from Triple-A and is not on the fantasy radar at this time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:20 pm

  • Wenceel Pérez has two hits in loss to Marlins
Wenceel Pérez went 2-for-4 in Tuesday’s loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Both of Pérez’s hits were singles, but he had three batted balls of at least 95 mph on the day and has been solid in his rookie campaign, slashing .304/.375/.506. His ability to play multiple positions around the diamond will likely help him remain in the lineup as the Tigers get healthier, and he’s certainly worth an add in deeper formats while he’s swinging the bat well. • Report: Mets moving on from veteran Joey Wendle
The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports the Mets are designating Joey Wendle for assignment.

Advice: Sherman adds that Yohan Ramirez will also be jettisoned from New York’s 40-man roster ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Phillies. Wendle signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Mets during the offseason and has contributed just a .522 OPS with zero homers and one steal in 17 contests. It’ll be Mark Vientos coming up to take his spot on the active roster and split time with Brett Baty at third base moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:55 pm
