• Fans eight in no-decision
Steele did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The Chicago southpaw posted his third straight quality start as he generated 14 whiffs en route to eight punchouts, tying his season-high set May 27 against Milwaukee. The Giants managed to collect both runs against Steele on a fifth inning double yielded to Curt Casali. Although Steele is still searching for his first win, he's been a dependable arm with a 3.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 56:15 K:BB over 57 innings this season. He's scheduled make his next start against the Giants again, but in San Francisco. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

  • Quality start in no-decision
Webb did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Cubs, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Webb collected his third consecutive quality start, twelfth total of the season, with a solid 101-pitch outing. The San Francisco ace's only blemish of the game came in the second inning when he allowed a 401-foot two-run homer to Dansby Swanson. With this outing, Webb pushed his ERA down to 2.99 over 99.1 innings this year. He looks to eclipse the 100 inning threshold for the fourth consecutive season in his next start, currently slated to be against the Cardinals on the road. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago

  • Jonathan Cannon barely misses shutout in first win
Jonathan Cannon shut out the Astros for 8 2/3 innings, striking out four, in a 2-0 win for the White Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: That’ll do. It’s the first major league victory for Cannon, who came in with a 4.56 ERA in four starts and one relief appearance. Facing a lineup missing Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker, Cannon gave up seven hits tonight, but just one went for extra bases. He walked only one before coming out with two on in a 2-0 game in the ninth. There doesn’t seem like a ton of upside here, but between the sinker, sweeper and cutter, Cannon has the potential to last as a major league starter. He’s still a weak bet for fantasy purposes while pitching for one of the league’s worst teams. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • John Brebbia notches one-out save
John Brebbia got one out in the ninth for his second save Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: Jonathan Cannon nearly had the shutout, but after two reached with two outs in a 2-0 game in the ninth, the White Sox had to go to the pen. Brebbia was the choice, which was kind of surprising since Michael Kopech hadn’t worked in five days. He got Victor Caratini to ground out and lowered his ERA to 5.81. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Framber Valdez surrenders two runs in loss
Framber Valdez pitched six innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Valdez allowed just two hits, but he walked five batters, which fueled the rallies in the third and fifth innings. Valdez worked out of big jams to limit the White Sox to single runs both innings, but the Astros offense did nothing to back him tonight. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

  • Struggles with control in loss
Valdez (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The Houston southpaw toiled against a weak White Sox team that entered the evening collectively batting .220 with a 7.1 percent walk rate -- both marks being second-to-last in the majors. The five walks Valdez issued were the most since his first start this season against the Yankees on March 28 when he issued six free passes. The 30-year-old now sports a 3.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP with 56:24 K:BB over 73.2 innings. Valdez faces a difficult test in his next scheduled outing, slated to come against Baltimore at home this weekend. • Aaron Nola pitches fine in no decison
Aaron Nola allowed three runs on four hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Padres.

Advice: Nola struck out six and walked just one on the day while posting just 11 whiffs on 51 swings for a 22 percent whiff rate and 24 percent CSW. The curve was the only pitch that really got swings-and-misses for Nola on Tuesday, but it was enough to stifle the Padres offense. He now has a 3.54 ERA on the season and gets a much easier start against the Tigers next week. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

  • Secures second save
Brebbia picked up the save in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Astros. He pitched a clean third of an inning without a strikeout.

Advice: After rookie Jonathan Cannon turned in 8.2 scoreless innings, Brebbia entered the ninth after Houston knocked a pair of two-out singles. The veteran reliever induced a Victor Caratini groundout to lock down Chicago's 20th win on the season. Michael Kopech has struggled mightily of late -- sporting a 11.37 ERA over 6.1 innings with three blown saves in his last eight appearances -- opening the pathway for Brebbia to claim the White Sox closer role. The 34-year-old appears ready for more save opportunities, as he owns a 1.17 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB in 7.1 innings in June. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

  • Michael King struggles with command on Tuesday
Michael King allowed one run on six hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: The right-hander struck out six but also walked three on the day and needed 100 pitches to get through his 4 2/3 innings. He did induce 12 whiffs on 47 swings for a 27 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW but he also had just a 44 percent zone rate on the night. King has been missing plenty of bats in his first season as a full-time starter, but the consistency hasn’t quite been there. Still, fantasy mangers are not upset about a 3.49 ERA and he remains a solid start this weekend against the Brewers. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
