Quinn Priester tosses six frames in loss to A’s
Quinn Priester struck out three and was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Athletics.
Advice: Priester managed to avoid a blow-up frame, limiting Oakland’s lackluster lineup to single runs in the second, third and fifth innings, respectively, despite giving up five hits and also handing out four free passes. He struggled to find the zone, throwing just 59 of 97 pitches for strikes, and was burned by a pair of solo shots from Abraham Toro and Tyler Nevin, which was enough to saddled him with a loss. He’s pitched well in a handful of starts this season and will bring a respectable 3.31 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (three starts) into another favorable matchup on Tuesday at home against the Angels.
