• Raisel Iglesias dodges traffic to net eighth save
Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Mariners to collect his eighth save of the season.

Advice: Iglesias was summoned to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and certainly made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Luke Raley before giving up a single to ensuing batter Julio Rodríguez. He set down Mitch Haniger and Jorge Polanco before getting Cal Raleigh to ground out to preserve the victory. The -year-oldr veteran stopper has converted eight of nine save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings (13 appearances). • Chris Sale posts nine strikeouts in win over M’s
Chris Sale recorded a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: Sale authored arguably his strongest performance of his Braves debut so far, generating an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes, and finishing with an elite 39 percent CSW. A run-scoring single from Jorge Polanco with two outs in the fifth inning represented the lone tally against him in this one. The oft-injured 35-year-old veteran southpaw has looked rejuvenated since arriving in Atlanta, allowing three earned runs or fewer in five of six starts to open the year. He’ll carry a strong 3.44 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42/7 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings (six starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against his former team, the suddenly resurgent Red Sox. • Emerson Hancock gets quick hook in loss to Braves
Emerson Hancock was charged with five runs (one earned) on Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: Hancock navigated a pair of scoreless frames before issuing a bases-loaded free pass in the third inning and allowing four additional unearned runs to cross the plate in the ensuing frame following a one-out fielding error by right fielder Mitch Haniger. He finished with four strikeouts and also walked three batters. It’s worth noting that Bryan Woo appears to be on the precipice of returning, which would likely ship him back to Triple-A Tacoma in the near future. For the moment, he’ll take the ball on Tuesday against the Twins at Target Field. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

  • Wins third straight
Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.

Advice: After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn. • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Ross Stripling spins six shutout frames vs. Pirates
Ross Stripling fired six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Pirates.

Advice: Stripling certainly wasn’t overpowering, mustering only a pair of strikeouts, but he managed to keep Pittsburgh’s lineup off balance with his five-pitch mix. He also consistently filled up the zone, throwing 58 of 79 pitches for strikes, and didn’t hand out a free pass in one of his better outings of the year. He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in four consecutive starts since April 15, but the lack of strikeouts limits his streaming appeal almost exclusively to deeper mixed leagues. He’ll take a serviceable 4.24 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a challenging home matchup on Tuesday against the Rangers. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Quinn Priester tosses six frames in loss to A’s
Quinn Priester struck out three and was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Priester managed to avoid a blow-up frame, limiting Oakland’s lackluster lineup to single runs in the second, third and fifth innings, respectively, despite giving up five hits and also handing out four free passes. He struggled to find the zone, throwing just 59 of 97 pitches for strikes, and was burned by a pair of solo shots from Abraham Toro and Tyler Nevin, which was enough to saddled him with a loss. He’s pitched well in a handful of starts this season and will bring a respectable 3.31 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (three starts) into another favorable matchup on Tuesday at home against the Angels. • Brewers option Abner Uribe to Triple-A
Brewers optioned RHP Abner Uribe to Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Uribe opened the season as the Brewers’ closer, but wound up posting a troublesome 6.91 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings. He was also a major player in Tuesday’s scuffle with Jose Siri and the Rays, resulting in a six-game suspension that he’s appealing. He’ll try to get back on track at Triple-A. • Shohei Ohtani gets breather on Wednesday
Shohei Ohtani is not in the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Wednesday evening’s showdown against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: It’s a rare and well-deserved day off for the superstar slugger. Will Smith will function as the Dodgers designated hitter on Wednesday while Austin Barnes does the catching against Jordan Montgomery and the D’Backs. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
