• Secures save Tuesday
Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Miller took a blown save in his last outing, though it was because he allowed an inherited runner to score. He's struggled a bit lately, allowing nine runs (six earned) with a 16:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings over his last 10 appearances. He's still performing quite well in the closer role for the Athletics, pitching to a 2.20 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB over 32.2 innings while going 13-for-15 in save chances this year. • Grabs 16th save
Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Pittsburgh, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Diaz made quick work of the middle of the Pirates' order Tuesday, logging his 16th save of the year. The right-hander has now converted his last nine save opportunities despite allowing three runs (two earned) over his prior three innings. Overall, Diaz sports a 5.27 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP and 28:19 K:BB across 27.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:38 pm

  • Mason Miller perfect in ninth for 13th save
Mason Miller recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller had it easy tonight, getting one strikeout and a pair of routine flies. He’s had some hiccups of late, but he remains about as good of a bet as any reliever from an ERA and strikeout perspective. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:55 pm

  • Alexis Díaz earns 16th save on Tuesday
Alexis Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a 2-1 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: The save was Díaz’s 16th of the season and fifth in the month of June. It was a nice rebound from his tough outing against the Brewers last time out and Díaz has now thrown a scoreless inning in eight of his last 11 appearances. The bigger key for the 27-year-old was that he didn’t walk a batter in this outing, only the second time in June he’s accomplished that. He needs to keep the walks down if he’s going to continue having success at the end of games. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:15 pm

  • Logs 13th save Monday
Estevez earned a save against the Brewers on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Estevez had little trouble protecting a two-run, ninth-inning lead, retiring the side in order on 13 pitches. The veteran reliever has turned things around after a rough middle portion of May -- he hasn't allowed a baserunner in seven straight outings, racking up six saves and a win during that span. As such, his hold on the Angels' closer role is, for now at least, very secure. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:09 am
  • Carlos Estévez perfect in seventh straight outing
Carlos Estévez threw a scoreless ninth with a two-run lead for a save Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: It was Estévez’s seventh consecutive perfect inning, a stretch that’s lowered his ERA from 5.06 to 3.52. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet going forward, but he certainly has it working now. Rotoworld Monday, 10:01 pm
  • Chase Silseth (elbow) to make third rehab start
Rather than rejoin the rotation, Chase Silseth will make a third rehab start on Friday.

Advice: Giving up three runs in five innings for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday wasn’t good enough to get Silseth back to the majors just yet. The Angels have off Thursday and Sunday this week, so there’s little harm in keeping Silseth down for now. If he pitches well Friday, he’ll probably be added to the rotation next week. Silseth has been out since early April with elbow inflammation. Rotoworld Monday, 5:12 pm

  • Set for another rehab start
Silseth (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Silseth is set for a fifth rehab start and third with Salt Lake. The 24-year-old has been on the injured list since April 8 due right elbow inflammation, but he appears to be closing in on a return from the 60-day injured list. Through two starts at Triple-A, Silseth has struggled overall, surrendering nine runs on 11 hits and eight walks while striking out seven batters over 7.2 innings. He'll look to put together a more successful outing Friday versus Reno. If Silseth performs well, he could come off the IL as soon as June 26 against the Athletics to fill the vacant No. 5 spot in the Angels rotation. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:03 pm

  • Falls to 2-9
Hudson (2-9) yielded three runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Pirates.

Advice: Hudson gave up one run through five frames before the Pirates broke out with a five-run sixth inning, with two of those runs being charged to Hudson. He forced 11 whiffs, including six via the slider. Hudson has produced a 4.41 ERA through three starts this month, slightly lowering his season ERA to 4.89 through 73.2 frames. His next start is projected to be at home against Washington. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:48 am
