Muller (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The left-hander began a throwing program June 6, and he appears to be progressing through it without setbacks. If all goes well with Sunday's bullpen session, Muller is slated to head out for a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas at some point during the following week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:52 am

  • Serves up two homers in spot start
Liberatore allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins on Wednesday.

Advice: Liberatore was pressed into a spot start after Kyle Gibson (back) was a late scratch. This was one day after Liberatore was charged with a blown save after allowing a run in two-thirds of an inning. The southpaw yielded solo home runs to Bryan De La Cruz and Jesus Sanchez in the first inning. Liberatore has a 4.46 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 28:15 K:BB over 38.1 innings over 26 appearances (four starts) this season, though he's mainly operated out of the bullpen as the Cardinals have tried to find one steady role for him. It's unclear at this time if Liberatore would be a candidate to start again should Gibson require a stint on the injured list. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:22 pm

  • Otto Lopez delivers walk-off hit vs. Cardinals
Otto Lopez hit a game-winning RBI single on Wednesday, lifting the Marlins to a 4-3 walk-off victory over the Cardinals.

Advice: Lopez helped Miami avoid a potential third straight extra-inning affair against the Cardinals by delivering a walk-off single to right field. The 25-year-old infielder has struggled of late, batting .255 (14-for-55) with zero homers and three steals over his last 15 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:28 pm

  • Matthew Liberatore allows two runs in spot start
Matthew Liberatore gave up two runs over 3 2/3 innings on Wednesday in a spot start against the Marlins.

Advice: Liberatore drew the starting assignment for Wednesday’s series finale at loanDepot park after Kyle Gibson was scratched a couple hours prior to first pitch due to back tightness and turned in his longest outing of the season. He gave up a pair of solo homers in the opening frame, but managed to keep Miami scoreless into the fourth inning before handing things over to the rest of the Cardinals’ bullpen. He struck out one and also issued one walk. There’s a chance he gets a couple additional starts moving forward, but has seemingly settled in nicely as a throwback swingman for St. Louis. It’s a disappointing outcome given his prospect pedigree, but he’s done a nice job gobbling up innings this season at the highest level. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:26 pm

  • Getting spot start Wednesday
Liberatore will start Wednesday's game in Miami in place of the injured Kyle Gibson (back), Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Gibson was a late scratch, forcing the Cardinals to turn to Liberatore, who threw 12 pitches and allowed one run over two-thirds of an inning in a relief appearance during Tuesday's loss to the Marlins. Liberatore has made three starts for St. Louis this season, but his last one came a month ago. He hasn't thrown more than 23 pitches in an appearance since then and will be going on zero days' rest Wednesday, so he'll presumably be in store for an abbreviated outing. • Jazz Chisholm Jr. scratched with tight hamstring
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup because of right hamstring tightness.

Advice: He’s supposed to be available off the bench, but the Marlins changed their minds about starting him at DH. It’s just the third time this season that he’s been out of the starting lineup and the first time due to injury. Vidal Bruján is playing center field today after his game-winning hit last night. • Scratched with tight hamstring
Chisholm was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals due to right hamstring tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Marlins are labeling the move as precautionary, and Chisholm will be available off the bench, if needed. Chisholm will perhaps be able to return to the lineup Friday against the Mariners following the team's off day Thursday. Vidal Brujan will cover center field Wednesday while Chisholm exits the lineup. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:08 am
  • Starting Wednesday after all
Lopez will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: The initial lineup the Marlins released for Wednesday's series finale called for Lopez to get the day off, but he'll end up sticking in the lineup while Jazz Chisholm heads to the bench after getting scratched with a hamstring injury. Lopez went 0-for-8 with two runs and a walk while starting at the keystone in the first two games of the series. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:07 am

  • Takes seat Wednesday
Lopez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Vidal Brujan, who contributed a walk-off RBI single in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning win over the Cardinals, will start at second base Wednesday. Lopez will get a day off after going 1-for-11 across his last four contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:39 am
