• Looks sharp Tuesday
Brieske tossed 2.1 scoreless innings of relief in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Atlanta. He struck out two.

Advice: Brieske helped keep Detroit in the game but didn't get enough run support to possibly scoop up his second win of the season. The righty allowed two earned runs in consecutive outings earlier this month, but since then he's rattled off four straight scoreless innings. Overall, Brieske has a solid 2.95 ERA and 0.87 WHIP across 18.1 innings this year. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am
  • Cardinals send Ryan Loutos to Triple-A
Cardinals optioned RHP Ryan Loutos to Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Loutos didn’t pitch in his three-day stint with the Cardinals. Rotoworld Today, 7:21 am

  • Early exit in first loss of year
Suarez (3-1) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits and five walks over 3.2 innings as the Orioles were downed 4-2 by the Yankees. He struck out three.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander also hit Aaron Judge with a pitch in his worst performance of the season, as Suarez tossed only 49 of 96 pitches for strikes. His control has been slipping since he returned to the rotation in late May -- over his last five starts, Suarez has a 19:13 K:BB in 23 innings despite a superficially strong 2.35 ERA. With Dean Kremer (triceps) closing in on a return and Cade Povich coming off an impressive outing against Atlanta, Suarez could wind up getting bumped to the bullpen once again. He should get at least one more turn in the rotation however, a road start this weekend in Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 7:04 am

  • Released by White Sox
The White Sox released Hill on Tuesday.

Advice: Hill cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and is now free to sign with another organization. The veteran reliever posted a 5.87 ERA and 13:10 K:BB over 23 innings for the White Sox this season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:37 am

  • Begins rehab assignment
Robertson (elbow) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks over one inning in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

Advice: Robertson missed a month of action with right elbow inflammation but is now on the comeback trail. The reliever should be activated from the 15-day injured list soon but isn't a guarantee to be added back to the major-league roster at that time. Rotowire.com Today, 6:35 am

  • Sent down to Triple-A
The Cardinals optioned Loutos to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Loutos' most recent stint with the big club lasted just a few days, and he didn't make an appearance. The righty turned in two scoreless relief appearances for the Cardinals earlier this season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 am

  • Serves up grand slam
Kinley allowed four earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one to record his only out Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Kinley entered the game in the ninth inning with the Rockies up by five runs. He allowed three of the first four batters he faced to reach base before serving up a grand slam to Jason Heyward. He was pulled immediately after, sparing him a loss or blown save, but it was still a disastrous outing that ultimately led to a Rockies loss. Kinley has taken over as Colorado's primary closer, though he's now given up six earned runs across his last three appearances spanning 2.1 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 5:40 am

  • Winds up with win
Duran (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, striking out two during a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Duran took the mound in the top of the ninth inning with the game tied 6-6 and didn't allow a hit for a fifth consecutive appearance. After Carlos Santana delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, Duran ended up qualifying for his third win of the campaign. The Twins' closer is 11-for-11 on save chances this season and owns a 3.43 ERA across 21.0 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 5:24 am

  • Tyler Kinley tagged for four runs by Dodgers
Brought in with a 9-4 lead in the ninth, Tyler Kinley gave up four runs while getting just one out Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Well, it’s not a blown save. Since it was a five-run game, it wouldn’t have been a blown save even if Kinley has remained in to give up the tying run. Kinley had reemerged as the favorite for saves in the Rockies’ pen, earning three of them this month, but he’s been thoroughly unimpressive overall. The door is definitely wide open for Justin Lawrence at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:20 pm
