    • Jordan Hicks lasts just 3 2/3 frames vs. D-backs
Jordan Hicks gave up two runs over 3 2/3 inefficient frames on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Hicks was all over the place in this one as he authored one of the more bizarre pitching lines of the season to date with seven strikeouts and four walks, while needing a staggering 92 pitches (51 strikes) to work into the fourth inning. The 27-year-old righty has exceeded expectations in his transition back to a traditional starting role, despite not working too deep into contests so far, posting a stellar 2.82 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 59/23 K/BB ratio across 67 innings (13 starts). He’ll square off against the Astros on Tuesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:12 pm

    • Start could be pushed to Friday
The Orioles are considering pushing Bradish's next scheduled start back a day to Friday in Tampa Bay, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Cade Povich will join Baltimore's taxi squad and looks in line to be called up from Triple-A Norfolk to start against the Blue Jays on Thursday, which had been Bradish's turn. Bradish doesn't seem to be battling any physical issue, but rather the team is simply looking to give him a little extra rest. Bradish is coming off his worst start of the season, having allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 frames against the Rays this past Saturday. • Impressive nine-strikeout effort
Kirby (5-5) got the win over the Athletics on Tuesday, recording nine strikeouts while allowing two earned runs on six hits and a walk over five-plus innings.

Advice: The right-hander had his swing-and-miss stuff in prime form for the second consecutive start, one-upping his eight-strikeout tally against the Astros last Wednesday. The two runs on Kirby's ledger came about through relatively innocuous means, with Abraham Toro getting to him with an RBI single in the third and Austin Voth conceding an RBI groundout to inherited runner Shea Langeliers upon entering for Kirby in the sixth. Kirby's last two strikeout-heavy outings have come on the heels of back-to-back starts where he gave up five runs apiece to the Nationals and Orioles, giving him some momentum heading into a projected tussle with the improved Royals at home on Sunday. • George Kirby strikes out nine in defeating A’s
George Kirby fanned nine while allowing two runs over five innings in the Mariners’ 4-3 win over the A’s on Tuesday.

Advice: This wasn’t Kirby’s smoothest outing, but it was good enough to get him back on the board for the first time in a few weeks. It’s just the second time this season he’s been credited with a victory in an outing in which he’s given up a run. He’s currently 5-5 with a 4.05 ERA and a 74/7 K/BB in 73 1/3 innings. • Up to seven saves
Fairbanks earned the save in Tuesday's 9-5 win over Miami, striking out a pair in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Phil Maton originally got the call in the ninth with Tampa Bay up by four runs. However, he'd allow the Marlins to load the bases on three straight singles, forcing the Rays to turn to Fairbanks, who proceeded to strike out Bryan De La Cruz and Jake Burger before coaxing a game-ending groundout from Josh Bell. It was an impressive performance from the 30-year-old right-hander, who hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 11 innings. Overall, Fairbanks is 7-for-8 in save chances with a 3.50 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 18 innings this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:58 pm

    • Pete Fairbanks earns save in win over Marlins
Pete Fairbanks put out a bases-loaded jam to secure a save in a 9-5 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Phil Maton started the ninth inning with the Rays up by four runs, but he allowed three straight hits, so the Rays called on Fairbanks to bail them out. The right-hander got two strikeouts and then a groundout to end the game and earn his seventh save of the season. The 30-year-old has battled some injuries and nerve issues in his throwing hand, but he has a 3.50 ERA on the season and remains a solid closer when healthy. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:17 pm

    • Corbin Burnes allows one earned run vs. Blue Jays
Corbin Burnes allowed one earned run and four hits over seven innings while picking up the win on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Burnes was solid on the night, allowing just one run on four hits, with his lone blemish coming on a solo blast from George Springer. Manager Brandon Hyde paid a brief visit to the mound following the Springer home run, but Burnes got the nod to finish out the inning in what was his 10th quality start of the season. Burnes is now 6-2 with a 2.26 ERA on the season. He’ll look earn his seventh win in his next start which is scheduled for Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:50 pm
