    • Might throw off mound this weekend
Eovaldi (groin) could be ready to throw off a mound this weekend, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Eovaldi did some more flat-ground throwing Monday and might be ready to take the next step forward by getting back on a mound to toss a bullpen session. While he looks to be trending in the right direction, Eovaldi doesn't look as though he'll be ready to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible on Saturday. He's coming back from a strained right groin. Rotowire.com Today, 3:38 pm

    • Punches out 10
Kremer (3-3) took the loss Sunday against Arizona, allowing six runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out 10.

Advice: Kremer notched double-digit strikeouts for the second time this season, tying his career high in the category. He fell off after retiring the first nine batters he faced, allowing at least two baserunners in each of the following innings before getting the yank in the sixth. He was pulled after allowing a two-run homer to Jake McCarthy and walking Kevin Newman consecutively. Despite having allowed nine homers in 46.0 innings this season, Kremer owns a solid 3.72 ERA and a 47:15 K:BB. Kremer's next start is scheduled to come Saturday against Seattle. • Dean Kremer strikes out 10 in loss
Dean Kremer allowed six runs (three earned) on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Advice: Kremer was hurt by two separate errors, including one by Ramon Urias on a potential inning-ending double play ball in the fifth inning with Arizona up just 1-0. With two outs in the sixth inning, he also allowed a home run to Jake McCarthy and then a walk to Kevin Newman, who came around to score against the Orioles bullpen. All told, it was a much better performance by Kremer than the statline indicates and his 28 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW were pretty strong on the day. He’s a solid streamer next week against the Mariners. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:01 pm
    • Early exit in no-decision
Gausman escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Twins, coughing up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander had given up only two earned runs across his prior four starts, but Gausman's luck deserted him Saturday as Minnesota scored three times in the first inning on some soft singles and shoddy defense, and the adjustments he tried to make in the next two frames only made matters worse. The Jays were able to rally late to take Gausman off the hook for his fourth loss, however. He'll carry a 4.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rays. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:36 pm
    • Kevin Gausman allows 10 hits, six earned vs. Twins
Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs — six earned — over three innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday in a start against the Twins.

Advice: Not ideal. Gausman allowed three runs in the first, another in the second, and three more in the third before leaving the game. The right-hander did strike out six, but it’s hard to be too excited about punchouts when you are this ineffective when the ball is put into play. Gausman’s ERA jumps to 4.95 after this outing from the 3.78 mark he had coming into it. He’ll get a chance to rebound Friday against the Rays. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:19 pm
    • Hit with loss in quality start
Houck (3-4) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-1 to the Nationals, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The right-hander pitched well and gave Boston another quality start, Houck's fifth straight and seventh in eight outings this season, but his offense let him down. Houck will carry a 2.24 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 50:8 K:BB through 52.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Rays. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:19 am

    • Tanner Houck gives up three runs in loss to Nats
Tanner Houck dropped to 3-4 after surrendering three runs in seven innings Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: It’s absurd that Houck should have a sub-.500 record with a 2.24 ERA, but the Red Sox have totaled four runs in his four losses. This was not Houck at his best tonight; he gave up 11 hard-hit balls and settled for four strikeouts. He’ll face the Rays next. Rotoworld Friday, 7:19 pm

    • Allows three runs in win
Hicks (3-1) earned the win over the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over five frames.

Advice: Hicks pitched well for most of the contest and allowed just one run up until the fifth inning. However, that's where the right-hander would run into trouble after allowing four consecutive batters to reach with one out, ultimately leading to two more runs coming across for Colorado. The seven hits and three runs allowed both marked season highs for Hicks, who has now failed to go beyond five innings in back-to-back starts. He now holds a 5.00 ERA over two May starts to go along with an 8:6 K:BB. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:56 am

    • Allows three homers in loss
Kirby (3-3) was hit with the loss against the Twins on Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Kirby didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, surrendering back-to-back home runs to Carlos Correa and Trevor Larnach in the first inning, along with a third long ball off the bat of Willi Castro in the following frame. The right-hander had not allowed more than one home run in a start coming in and had held opponents to one or fewer runs in each of his previous three outings. On a positive note, Kirby has now gone at least five innings in five consecutive starts, posting a 32:3 K:BB over that stretch. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:33 am
