      Advice: Eovaldi had a troublesome third inning, allowing Jackson Chourio to reach on a leadoff single before letting Christian Yelich and Willy Adames get on base with two outs, leading to a Jake Bauers grand slam. The other run charged to Eovaldi came in the fourth frame, when Derek Hill couldn't make a diving catch in center field, allowing Chourio to get all the way around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Eovaldi's five runs allowed tied his season high, and he's allowed a home run in five consecutive starts. Overall, he owns a 3.45 ERA and 74 strikeouts across 73.0 innings.       Brent Rooker went 2-for-4 with a double on Wednesday against the Angels.

      Advice: The Athletics keep losing, but Rooker keeps hitting. The double was his 32nd extra-base hit of the season and his OPS has climbed up to .845, 20th in the league among qualified players.       Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five runs in seven innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

      Advice: Jake Bauers’ third-inning grand slam accounted for most of the damage. It was actually the first slam ever surrendered by Eovaldi; the league had hit just .227/.228/.267 in 79 career plate appearances with the bases loaded.       Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a run-scoring single off Rockies starter Ryan Feltner in the fourth inning before tacking on another RBI single a couple frames later to give Houston a six-run advantage at the time. The 25-year-old backstop got off to a frosty start this season at the dish, but he’s rounded into form of late, batting .351 (20-for-57) with two homers and one steal over his past 15 games.     • Another rehab start Thursday
      Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Kremer (tricep) will make another rehab start Thursday at Triple-A Norfolk, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

      Advice: Kremer struggled in his second rehab outing this past Saturday with Norfolk, allowing five runs while recording just two outs. He got his pitch count to 59 in his first rehab start but was pulled from the second outing after throwing just 39 pitches due to a stressful first inning. It's possible Kremer will be ready to return from the 15-day injured list next week, though that decision depends on how he looks Thursday and how much he can get stretched out.       Advice: Reynolds officially owns the longest hit streak of the 2024 campaign after a first-inning single on Wednesday afternoon against Reds starter Graham Ashcraft. It was his lone hit in five at-bats, but the fact that he got it out of the way right out of the gate took all of the drama out of this one.       George Kirby struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Wednesday in a win over the Rays.

      Advice: Kirby coughed up an early run-scoring single to Yandy Díaz, but managed to keep Tampa Bay’s lineup quiet from the third inning onwards to net his seventh win of the season. He induced 13 swinging strikes, including six on his four-seam fastball, and finished with a pedestrian 28 percent CSW. Of course, he also didn’t hand out a free pass in this one. It wasn’t his most dominant effort of the season, but was more than enough to lead Seattle to a much-needed win. The 26-year-old righty has allowed two earned runs or fewer in six consecutive starts dating back to May 29.
