Nevin has a nice .301/.350/.452 line in 80 plate appearances for the A’s, but the exit velocity numbers aren’t really there to back it up and he might find himself out of favor once the A’s get healthier; it’s doubtful he would have been claimed in the first place if not for Miguel Andujar’s injury.     Carlos Santana smashed a two-run homer on Monday, powering the Twins to a 3-2 victory over the White Sox.

    Advice: Santana took southpaw Garrett Crochet deep in the second inning for his fourth round-tripper in his last five games after going 20 straight games without a big fly to open the season. The 38-year-old’s recent hot streak is enough to keep his bat in the lineup moving forward, but his on-base skills have eroded to the point that it’s fair to question how much longer he’s going to stick around for Minnesota.     Advice: Davis got through Sunday's rehab appearance at Triple-A Las Vegas without issue, but the club evidently wants to see him get a few more chances in the minors before activating him from the 10-day IL.
