• Lasts just four innings in loss
Henry (1-2) took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks without recording a strikeout over four innings.

Advice: Henry got another turn in the rotation with Merrill Kelly (shoulder) and Ryne Nelson (elbow) on the injured list, but he was mostly ineffective against a potent Dodgers offense. Though the extent of the damage on the scoreboard against the southpaw was a pair of second-inning runs, he didn't record a single strikeout, and only one of his 72 pitches was a swinging strike. Henry's overall body of work this season has been mediocre, as he's posted a 5.40 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB over 28.1 frames. He may be pushed out of the rotation before his next turn comes up with Nelson nearing a return to action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:41 pm

  • Shaky but victorious
Paxton (3-0) earned the win over Arizona on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four batters over five innings.

Advice: Paxton gave up constant traffic on the basepaths and needed 96 pitches to get through just five frames, but a potent Dodgers offense gave him enough support to keep his record spotless at 3-0 for the season. Despite the veteran southpaw's clean record, he's been a volatile rotation option for Los Angeles due largely to his control issues -- Paxton has walked five or more batters on three occasions this season after doing so only five times total across his first 10 big-league campaigns. Though Paxton has thus far done what it takes to pick up wins in spite of the issue with free passes, fantasy managers may be hesitant to deploy him given his ugly 15:22 K:BB and 1.68 WHIP through 25.2 innings on the season. • Joe Boyle holds Pirates to one hit in win
Joe Boyle allowed only one hit while pitching five innings of one-run ball Monday in Oakland’s 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.

Advice: Boyle walked four, but it didn’t matter much with what little hard contact the Pirates made turning into routine outs. The victory moved Boyle to 2-4 with a 6.08 ERA. He doesn’t seem like a very good bet going forward, but he’s not an awful choice with a home start versus the Marlins coming up next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:20 pm

  • Takes loss Monday
Waldron (1-3) was tagged with the loss against Cincinnati on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Advice: Waldron fell behind early on an Elly De La Cruz first-inning solo homer, and he gave up four runs across his first three frames. To his credit, the knuckleballer yielded just one hit and zero runs over his final three innings, but San Diego's offense was mostly held in check. Waldron has completed six frames in each of his past two appearances, and he's given up one run in half of his six starts on the season. However, his record sits at 1-3, and he's pitched to a mediocre 4.35 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB over 31 frames overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:09 pm
  • Matt Waldron gives up four runs to Reds
Matt Waldron lost to the Reds after allowing four runs in six innings Monday.

Advice: Waldron has all of the tricks up his sleeve, but they’d work a whole lot better if he could throw 95 mph. He topped out at 92.1 mph tonight and averaged 90.2 mph with his four-seamers and sinkers. He’ll hold his own against subpar offenses, but top lineups are going to remain a big issue. • Gets back on track
Crochet didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: After surrendering five or more runs in three straight starts, Crochet snapped out of the funk and only allowed the Twins to score on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana in the second frame. Crochet also had strong command, walking just one batter after yielding seven walks and two hit-by-pitches in his last three outings. Although Crochet has been inconsistent to kick off 2024, his strikeout stuff has been elite, boasting the second most K's in baseball. He's lined up for a Saturday start against the Cardinals. • James Paxton gives up four runs in victory
James Paxton won Monday despite giving up four runs and walking five in five innings Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Paxton has been oddly wild this year, and his velocity has been down 1.5-2 mph from last season. He’s still at least a streaming option in mixed leagues anyway, but he’s not throwing as well as his 3-0 record and 3.51 ERA suggests, and he’ll almost certainly wind up on the IL at some point. • Lands another save
Thielbar earned the save Monday against the White Sox, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over a scoreless inning.

Advice: Theilbar followed both Griffin Jax and Brock Stewart for his second save in as many appearances. However, with Jhoan Duran (oblique) expected to be activated Tuesday after an IL stint, Thielbar will likely return to a middle relief role. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm
  • Griffin Canning gives up four runs to Phillies
Griffin Canning yielded four runs and five walks in five innings Monday against the Phillies.

Advice: Canning managed just one strikeout and four missed swings tonight. There still might be some hope for him if he recovers the two mph he’s lost since last season, but he’s not a very good bet at the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:21 pm
