• Gets back on track
Crochet didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: After surrendering five or more runs in three straight starts, Crochet snapped out of the funk and only allowed the Twins to score on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana in the second frame. Crochet also had strong command, walking just one batter after yielding seven walks and two hit-by-pitches in his last three outings. Although Crochet has been inconsistent to kick off 2024, his strikeout stuff has been elite, boasting the second most K's in baseball. He's lined up for a Saturday start against the Cardinals. • Lands another save
Thielbar earned the save Monday against the White Sox, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over a scoreless inning.

Advice: Theilbar followed both Griffin Jax and Brock Stewart for his second save in as many appearances. However, with Jhoan Duran (oblique) expected to be activated Tuesday after an IL stint, Thielbar will likely return to a middle relief role. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm
  • Caleb Thielbar gets save Monday against White Sox
Caleb Thielbar tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the White Sox to net his second save of the season.

Advice: Thielbar got the call to guard a one-run lead in the final frame once Minnesota took the lead after Brock Stewart and Griffin Jax worked a pair of scoreless frames in a tie ballgame. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 pm
  • Garrett Crochet bounces back Monday vs. Twins
Garrett Crochet struck out seven and allowed two runs over five innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: Crochet gave up just two hits and only handed out one free pass as a second-inning homer by veteran Carlos Santana accounted for all of the damage against him. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 34 percent CSW. It was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the 24-year-old southpaw after allowing at least five earned runs in three consecutive starts since April 13. He’ll bring a bloated 5.97 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 47/9 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings (seven starts) into a road matchup on Sunday against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The underlying metrics suggest that he’s pitched better than his surface stats, which means fantasy managers should continue keeping him rostered outside of extremely shallow mixed leagues. • Takes tough loss
Wilson (2-1) allowed one run on four hits and two walks over six innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Rays.

Advice: Wilson coughed up a run in the first inning but finished his night with five straight scoreless frames. It was the first time this season he finished at least five innings and he dropped his season ERA to 3.00 through 24 innings. Wilson forced 10 whiffs Monday after totaling just nine over his previous three appearances (9.1 innings). Wilson is currently slated to face the Cubs on the road this weekend. • Escapes with save
Adam allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning Monday. He struck out two and earned a save over the Brewers.

Advice: Adam also hit a batter and faced a bases-loaded situation with two outs but still narrowly finished off the 1-0 win. It was his first save of the year after blowing his only other chance April 5 against the Rockies. Adam now owns a 1.29 ERA with a 12:4 K:BB and seven holds through 14 innings. • Records first win
Leiter (1-1) retired the only two batters he faced out of the bullpen to earn the win in Monday's 3-1 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Starter Jameson Taillon was excellent over 7.1 innings, but the Cubs turned to Leiter to get the last two outs of the eighth. The veteran righty delivered, then scooped up his first win of the year when Christopher Morel hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth. Leiter has been excellent all year, posting a 0.69 ERA and 13 strikeouts across 13 innings. He should continue to work in a setup role ahead of new closer Hector Neris, though he could be next up for saves if Neris falters. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:30 pm
  • Notches first save
Coulombe worked a scoreless ninth inning Monday to record his first save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Advice: With Craig Kimbrel (back) sidelined, Yennier Cano remained in his high-leverage role and retired Aaron Judge as the final out of the seventh inning before taking care of Anthony Rizzo, Giancarlo Stanton and Austin Wells in the eighth. After Cano gave up a single to begin the ninth, however, Coulombe was brought in to handle the bottom of New York's order and needed only 12 pitches (nine strikes) to get the job done. Kimbrel may not be unavailable for long, but if he does wind up on the injured list, Coulombe could factor more heavily into the endgame mix for manager Brandon Hyde than expected. The southpaw has pitched well to begin the season, posting a 3.18 ERA, 0.62 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB through 11.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:18 pm
  • Bryse Wilson strikes out six in loss versus Rays
Bryse Wilson yielded just one run and struck out six batters against the Rays on Monday.

Advice: It’s a season-high in strikeouts for Wilson who was in command following a shaky first inning against Tampa Bay. Wilson hit Yandy Diaz and then allowed back-to-back walks to load the bases with no outs in the first frame. He was able to get Issac Paredes to ground out into a double play and got out of the inning with limited damage, giving up just one run. Following that inning, the 26-year-old hurler locked in and didn’t allow a run in his final five innings. Given the Brewers are in a rough spot given the injuries to their rotation, Wilson did more than enough to give them a chance. He should get his next opportunity against the Cubs this weekend.
