    • Gets aboard six times Wednesday
Wade went 3-for-3 with three walks, one RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Advice: This was Wade's first three-hit game of the year, as well as his second three-walk effort. It's arguably the best example of what he's brought to the table in 2024 -- decent contact hitting and remarkable patience at the plate. Wade is batting .340 with a 19:12 BB:K over 19 games in May. For the season, the first baseman is at a .336/.484/.431 slash line with two home runs, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and one stolen base over 153 plate appearances. Wade briefly saw a full-time role earlier in the month when Jorge Soler was on the injured list, but since Soler's return, Wade has returned to a strong-side platoon with Wilmer Flores at first base. • LaMonte Wade Jr. reaches six times in victory
LaMonte Wade Jr. had an impressive night at the dish in Wednesday’s victory over the Pirates, going 3-for-3 with three singles, three walks, a pair of runs scored and an RBI.

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder led off the sixth inning with a single and rode home on Matt Chapman’s two-run blast. He then delivered the biggest hit of the game, smacking a game-tying two-out RBI single off of Colin Holderman in the ninth inning. With his three-hit attack, Wade is now hitting .336/.484/.431 with a pair of homers, 16 RBI and a stolen base. Rotoworld Today, 7:06 pm

    • Hitting bench Wednesday
Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Though he'll hit the bench Wednesday against right-hander Mitch Spence, the lefty-hitting Cave could still be included in the lineup versus righties more often than not, at least until Nolan Jones (back) returns from the injured list. Cave looked to be at risk of losing out on playing time when Kris Bryant was activated Tuesday, but Cave started in right field in the Rockies' series-opening loss and went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Rather than Cave, Elehuris Montero has been the main loser thus far since Bryant's return, as Montero has sat out twice in a row. Rotowire.com Today, 4:00 pm

    • Sitting in second straight
Montero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kris Bryant will make a second straight start at first base since his return from the injured list Tuesday, with Montero hitting the bench for both contests. The 25-year-old could still see regular playing time against left-handed pitching, but Montero looks like he'll be the odd man out of the lineup versus righties for now. Despite seeing everyday playing time for most of the season, Montero has disappointed with an underwhelming .582 OPS through 153 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 pm

    • Sitting versus southpaw
Brown is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Brown hasn't started against a left-handed pitcher all season, and that trend will continue Wednesday as Austin Gomber takes the mound for Colorado. Tyler Nevin will take over in right field and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Today, 2:46 pm

    • Homers Wednesday
Meneses went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Menses made things interesting in the ninth inning Wednesday, launching a solo shot off Jhoan Duran to lead off the frame. The 32-year-old Meneses had gotten off to a slow start this year, though he's now 6-for-17 with a pair of extra-base hits in his last three contests. Overall, he's slashing .234/.299/.299 with two homers, 24 RBI and nine runs scored through 43 games on the campaign. Rotowire.com Today, 2:35 pm

    • Added to lineup
Smith will start at first base and bat sixth Wednesday versus Tampa Bay, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Smith was originally scheduled to have Wednesday off, but he will now step in with Garrett Cooper battling a shoulder injury. Smith is slashing just .182/.224/.234 through 58 plate appearances this season, though he has recorded a base hit in six of his last eight games. Rotowire.com Today, 2:35 pm

    • Scratched Wednesday
Cooper was scratched from Boston's lineup prior to Wednesday's game against the Rays due to right shoulder discomfort, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The severity of Cooper's injury isn't immediately apparent, but it's bothering him enough to keep him from playing Wednesday. Dominic Smith will enter the lineup to cover first base, meanwhile Cooper will have an extra day to rest Thursday before potentially returning Friday against the Brewers. • Getting rest day
Vaughn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Vaughn appears to be getting some routine maintenance in the series finale in Toronto after he had started in each of the White Sox's last 16 games. Gavin Sheets will step in for Vaughn at first base. Rotowire.com Today, 2:29 pm
