    • Kyle Gibson keeps Reds bats in check in win
Kyle Gibson allowed just one run on two hits in six innings in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Gibson struck out six and walked one and the only real damage was a solo home run to Will Benson in the sixth inning. The 36-year-old posted an impressive 15 whiffs for a 34 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW. Gibson used all six of his pitches on the night, and had a 38 percent whiff rate on the sweeper while his cutter pounded the strike zone for a 41 percent CSW. The veteran now has a 3.60 ERA on the season but gets a tough start on the road against the Astros next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:23 pm
    • Rockies outright Matt Koch to Triple-A
Rockies sent RHP Matt Koch outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Advice: Koch unsurprisingly went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week by Colorado. The 33-year-old righty could wind up electing free agency, but will likely stick around as extra organizational depth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:06 pm

    • Sitting during nightcap
Nido isn't in the Mets' lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Dodgers, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Nido went 0-for-4 but scored a run during a loss in Game 1, and he'll give way to Omar Narvaez for the final game of Tuesday's action. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:29 pm

    • Resting versus lefty
Heyward isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Mets, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Heyward went 1-for-3 and drew a walk in a win during Game 1, and he'll step out of the lineup to conclude Tuesday's proceedings as the Mets send lefty Jose Quintana to the mound. Miguel Vargas, Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez will start across Los Angeles' outfield while Heyward rests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:25 pm
    • Sitting against lefty
Lux isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: After a 1-for-5 performance during the Dodgers' Game 1 win, Lux will take a seat during the nightcap versus left-handed starter Jose Quintana. Miguel Rojas will start at the keystone instead while batting eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:23 pm

    • Blake Treinen records first save since 2021
Blake Treinen tossed a perfect 10th inning on Tuesday against the Mets to record his first save of the season.

Advice: Treinen was summoned to protect a three-run lead in extra innings during the opening contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader at Citi Field and needed just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to hurl a flawless frame. He struck out Brett Baty, got Tomás Nido to fly out and fanned Francisco Lindor to preserve the victory. It was his first save in the majors since the 2021 campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:58 pm
    • Adam Ottavino blows save Tuesday vs. Dodgers
Adam Ottavino allowed one run in the ninth inning on Tuesday in a blown save against the Dodgers.

Advice: Ottavino got the call over Edwin Díaz to protect a one-run lead in the final frame and wound up surrendering three straight hits, including a game-tying hit single to Chris Taylor. The veteran righty managed to wriggle out of the jam without any further damage, but the Mets wound up falling in extra innings. Not great. It’s unclear where manager Carlos Mendoza will go from here, but we’re guessing Díaz will probably wind up getting the next save chance. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:58 pm
    • Receiving another start
Brown is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Brewers at American Family Field.

Advice: Brown made his fifth start of the season and his first since May 2 in his last appearance Thursday versus Atlanta, striking out six over four scoreless innings while working around one hit and two walks. Because he had been working out of the bullpen over the preceding three weeks and took the mound versus Atlanta on three days' rest, Brown had his workload monitored carefully, as he was pulled after 66 pitches despite mowing down the opposing lineup. Brown should be able to provide the Cubs with more length when he takes the hill Tuesday, but his run in the Chicago rotation may not last much longer, with Jordan Wicks (forearm) nearing a return from the 15-day injured list. • Outrighted to Triple-A
Koch cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque by the Rockies on Monday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Advice: He's no longer on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization. Koch has allowed four runs (three earned) while recording just one out covering two appearances with the Rockies this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:21 pm
