    • Eyeing Sunday return
Musgrove (elbow) could return from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game in Atlanta, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Dylan Cease is available to pitch Sunday on his normal four days' rest, but the Padres appear to be leaving the door open for Musgrove to return Sunday if he comes out of his bullpen session Wednesday no worse for the wear. Randy Vasquez has stepped in to fill the vacancy in the rotation since Musgrove was placed on the IL on May 5 with elbow inflammation. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Brenton Doyle helps to power Rockies past Padres
Brenton Doyle clobbered a two-run homer on Wednesday, helping to power the Rockies to victory over the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder opened the scoring in the contest with a 431-foot (108.5 mph EV) solo shot off of Michael King in the top half of the second inning. He also worked a walk in the third inning and raced around to score on a two-run single by Jacob Stallings. Doyle finished the afternoon 1-for-4 and is now slashing .281/.337/.464 with five long balls, 13 RBI and eight swipes on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:53 pm

    • Drives in four
Contreras went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple and four total RBI in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras got Milwaukee on the board with a three-run, opposite-field blast off Martin Perez in the third inning before tacking on a fourth RBI with a triple in the sixth, his first three-bagger this season. While Contreras had gone 18 games without a home run, he's now recorded at least one hit in nine straight contests, going 17-for-36 (.472) in that span. The 26-year-old catcher is now slashing a robust .359/.434/.553 with six homers, 34 RBI, 39 runs scored and three stolen bases through 196 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:29 pm
    • Optimistic for minimum IL stay
Lodolo (groin) is hoping he will only require a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lodolo was placed on the IL earlier Wednesday with a left groin strain. The pitcher revealed that he pitched with the injury during his last start but was hoping to make enough progress to take his next turn. That didn't happen, though, and so the decision was made to put him on the IL. He will have to show the necessary recovery in the coming days, but Lodolo expects to return when first eligible on May 27 against the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Today, 2:04 pm

    • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of lineup
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the Cubs’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s ballgame against the Braves.

Advice: The 27-year-old infielder was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup due to tightness in his left hamstring, and he’ll get an additional day off on Wednesday to rest as well. Miles Mastrobuoni will start in his place at shortstop and bat sixth for the Cubs against Charlie Morton and the Braves on Wednesday evening in Atlanta. Rotoworld Today, 1:35 pm

    • Held out again Wednesday
Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Hoerner was a late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 7-0 loss with left hamstring tightness and still isn't feeling up to playing. Hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky, but the Cubs haven't indicated at this point that Hoerner will require a stint on the injured list. Miles Mastrobuoni will again fill in at shortstop. • William Contreras homers, Brewers demolish Pirates
William Contreras went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Wednesday, leading the Brewers to a decisive 10-2 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Contreras is rapidly evolving into one of the premier four-category contributors in the entire fantasy landscape as his latest three-hit performance, his sixth of the season, raises his batting average to an astronomical .359 mark through 43 contests. The 26-year-old backstop crushed a three-run homer off Pirates southpaw Martín Pérez in the third inning and also added an RBI triple a couple frames later as Milwaukee hit five homers in a blowout victory. He’s up to 39 runs scored and 34 homers already to go along with six homers and three steals as well. There isn’t much left to say at this point besides legitimately asking if he’s going to surpass Orioles superstar Adley Rutschman as the consensus top catcher in fantasy at some point in the future. • Resting against lefty
Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: With lefty Joey Lucchesi on the bump for the Mets, the lefty-hitting Marsh will head to the bench Wednesday. Cristian Pache replaces him in left field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:27 pm

    • Lands on IL with groin strain
The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left groin strain.

Advice: It's not clear whether Lodolo was injured during his most recent start Saturday versus the Giants or sometime since then, but either way, he's going to be on the shelf at least for the next couple weeks. The left-hander has been excellent this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB through 35 innings over six starts. Nick Martinez would appear to be the most likely candidate to fill Lodolo's spot in the rotation, which comes up again Thursday versus the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 am
