    • Serves up first homer
Williams came away with a no-decision in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The right-hander tossed 48 of 81 pitches for strikes and got burned by some shaky defense behind him, but the one earned run he allowed came on a solo shot by Eloy Jimenez in the second inning -- the first homer Williams had served up this season. It's been an impressive turnaround in that department for the 32-year-old right-hander as he was taken deep 34 times in 2023, most in the National League. Williams will take a 1.94 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB through 41.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come this weekend in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:58 pm
    • Dealt another loss
Priester (0-4) took the loss Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks during six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Priester endured a nightmare second inning in which he allowed a two-run homer to Sal Frelick as part of a four-run, six-hit frame. The Pirates were never able to recover from the early deficit, falling 4-3 to give Priester his fourth loss in five starts. Despite the lack of wins, Priester has shown signs of improvement in his second year in the bigs, with his ERA dropping from 7.74 to 4.33 this season in 27 innings. With Paul Skenes impressing in his MLB debut and very likely to stick around, Priester could be the odd man out in the Pirates rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:40 pm
    • Priester allows four earned runs in loss to MIL
Quinn Priester allowed nine hits and four earned runs over six innings in the Pirates’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Priester got through the first inning unscathed but was lit up for multiple hits in the second inning, with the biggest hit coming on a two-run homer by Sal Frelick. RBI singles by Brice Turang and Christian Yelich would give the Brewers an early 4-0 lead before the inning finally came to an end, but Priester would go on to pitch four more scoreless frames before being pulled. Priester has been solid this year, posting a 4.33 ERA over five starts while posting a 17:10 K:BB ratio. Despite this, his record now sits at 0-4. He’ll look to pick up his first win of the season on Sunday against the Cubs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Blake Snell to make rehab start Friday at Triple-A
Blake Snell (adductor) will make another minor league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Sacramento.

Advice: Snell will require one additional tune-up prior to returning to San Francisco’s starting rotation at some point later next week. The 31-year-old southpaw has been on the shelf since late April due to a left adductor strain. He struck out seven batters last Sunday in a dominant rehab outing for Single-A San Jose. • Trevor Williams finally allows homer on Tuesday
Trevor Williams was charged with three runs (one earned) over five innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the White Sox.

Advice: Williams went 37 2/3 innings over seven starts to open the season before finally coughing up a homer when White Sox slugger Eloy Jiménez took him deep into the second inning. The 32-year-old righty hasn’t generated enough strikeouts to make a significant impact for fantasy managers, but he’s been a nice back-end rotation stabilizer in deeper mixed leagues. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.94 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 32/13 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Sunday against the Phillies at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park. • Next rehab start Friday
Snell (thigh) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Snell fired four perfect innings while striking out seven batters during his first rehab outing at Single-A San Jose, though he'll be facing some tougher competition during his next start. Assuming everything goes smoothly, Friday is expected to be the 31-year-old's final game in the minors, putting him in line to return from the IL and start May 23 against the Pirates. • Fans seven in win
Keller (4-3) allowed eight hits over six shutout frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over Milwaukee.

Advice: Keller faced traffic on the bases throughout the night but was able to dance around danger and keep the Brewers scoreless. He forced 13 whiffs -- his second-best total so far this season -- and threw 71 of 100 pitches for strikes. Of those 13, seven came via the fastball, which averaged 95.2 mph. Keller has seemingly turned a corner after a shaky opening month; he's allowed just one run while posting a 12:1 K:BB over 15 frames in his last two starts. Keller will carry a 3.93 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:09 pm

    • Keller picks up fourth win Monday
Mitch Keller tossed six shutout innings, recorded seven strikeouts and picked up the win in the Pirates’ 8-6 victory over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The win was Keller’s fourth of the season. He allowed eight hits, but walked none in the outing. Keller lowered his ERA to 3.93 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cubs in Chicago this weekend.

    • Nationals-White Sox postponed
Williams and the Nationals won't play Monday against the White Sox after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Chicago, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday. Williams' next start will simply be pushed back a day to one half of the twin bill, and the White Sox will do the same with their scheduled starter for Monday, Chris Flexen. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:45 pm
