    • Smacks sixth homer
Joe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Brewers.

Advice: Joe returned to the lineup after sitting Monday and has started nine of Pittsburgh's 12 games in May. He's hit .294 with three home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI in that span, and he lifted his sixth long ball of the season Monday. Joe should continue to get regular run at both first base and in right field as one of the Pirates' more productive hitters. Rotowire.com Today, 7:18 am

    • Belts grand slam
Bauers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Bauers cut Pittsburgh's lead to 7-6 with his eighth-inning grand slam but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback. He now has four home runs this season and two in his last four appearances. He's gone 8-for-22 (.364) with nine RBI so far in May. Bauers owns a .244/.326/.476 slash line with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBI this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:19 pm

    • Back on bench Monday
Joe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Joe isn't quite an everyday player for the Pirates, but he's been one of the more productive hitters in a struggling lineup this season and is gradually starting to earn steadier playing time versus right-handed pitching. He'll take a seat against Brewers righty Colin Rea in the series opener in Milwaukee, however, as the Pirates trot out a starting outfield of Bryan Reynolds, Michael Taylor and Jack Suwinski from left to right. Meanwhile, Rowdy Tellez will draw the start at first base and Andrew McCutchen will serve as Pittsburgh's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:16 pm

    • Delivers extra-inning HR
Joe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Joe spearheaded the Pirates' comeback effort, plating Oneil Cruz on a leadoff homer in the bottom of the 10th inning. However, his long ball wasn't enough, as Pittsburgh trailed by three entering the frame. Joe has gone yard in back-to-back games, bringing his season total up to five homers in 134 plate appearances. • Connor Joe has two hits, HR in loss to Cubs
Connor Joe went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double in a loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Joe had a big 10th-inning home run off Adbert Alzolay that left the bat at 109.4 mph and brought the Pirates to within one. He also had a 102 mph double earlier in the game and has been seeing the ball well. He also made five starts for the Pirates this week and has been starting to play more regularly, which would be huge for his fantasy value. If he can continue to draw semi-regular starts against right-handed pitchers, he can be scooped up in all 15-team formats. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:33 pm

    • Heads to bench Sunday
Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Bauers is on the bench for the series finale, but after producing a .400/.571/.900 slash line with two stolen bases while starting in each of the past four games, he may have moved back into a near-everyday role. Jackson Chourio -- who had been benched for the past four games -- will rejoin the starting nine and replace Bauers in the corner outfield. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:35 am

    • Smacks key homer
Joe went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Joe lifted a three-run home run in the third inning, his fourth long ball of the campaign. He's hit well overall this season, which has helped him move from a short-side platoon role to a role as a near-everyday player. Joe has started eight of Pittsburgh's last 10 games, filling in for Rowdy Tellez at first base against lefties and for Michael Taylor in the outfield against righties. • Records fourth steal
Bauers went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bauers got plunked by St. Louis starter Kyle Gibson in the third inning to force in the first run of the game. After losing playing time to Tyler Black earlier in the month, Bauers has gotten in the lineup for four straight games, going 4-for-10 with three walks, two steals, four RBI and three runs in that span. The 28-year-old is likely to remain in a strong-side platoon role with most of his playing time coming in the corner outfield. He's up to a .231/.318/.436 slash line through 88 plate appearances on the season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:21 pm

    • Jake Bauers goes 2-for-3, triples in rout
Jake Bauers followed up his homer Thursday by going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, a walk and a steal against the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: There was a legitimate argument for DFAing Bauers and keeping Tyler Black after Christian Yelich came off the IL, but it was a weaker one if Yelich was going to DH frequently. Bauers thinks the Brewers made the right call, and he’s raised his OPS from .639 to .732 the last two days. He’ll play against most righties for now, though that’s not certain to last.
