    • Slade Cecconi roughed up for six runs by Reds
Slade Cecconi was tagged for six runs in 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Once again, Cecconi excelled his first time through the lineup and got hit hard afterwards. It suggests that he’d probably be better off as a middle reliever, though with two starters down, the Diamondbacks will probably keep him in the rotation for now. He’s 1-3 with a 5.27 ERA since making his season debut on Apr. 21. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Posts fourth steal
Siani went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Siani continues to hit well in May -- he's 11-for-27 (.407) over 11 contests this month. The center fielder has added two of his four steals, but he's not adding much in the way of power with just one extra-base hit during the month. Overall, Siani is slashing .242/.306/.288 with two RBI, 12 runs scored and no home runs through 77 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Stellar in Tuesday's win
Burleson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Burleson has gone 9-for-24 (.375) over his last seven games, with five of his hits in that span going for extra bases. He also picked up his first steal of the campaign in Tuesday's win. The 25-year-old is up to a .272/.306/.437 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles over 108 plate appearances. He's operated in a strong-side platoon role for much of the season, but it's encouraging to note that two of his three hits Tuesday, including his homer, came against left-handed pitchers. With both Dylan Carlson and Lars Nootbaar under the Mendoza line, there could be an opportunity for Burleson to see more consistent playing time, especially since he's been in the lineup against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced. • Cal Quantrill pitches Rockies past Padres
Cal Quantrill held the Padres to one run over six innings in picking up a victory Tuesday.

Advice: Amazingly and incredibly, Quantrill’s ERA is down to 3.66. He’s allowed a total of two runs in his last three starts, even striking out 19 batters in the process. We still certainly wouldn’t suggest grabbing him in fantasy leagues, but this has been a whole lot better than his Colorado experience figured to go. Rotoworld Today, 9:57 pm

    • Tyler Kinley records first save for Rockies
Tyler Kinley recorded his first save of the year with a perfect ninth against the Padres on Tuesday.

Advice: Kinley got the nod tonight with both Jalen Beeks and Justin Lawrence unavailable. He entered camp as probably a slight favorite over Lawrence to close for the Rockies, but he had a bad spring and then posted a 13.06 ERA in April. The good news is that he’s up to 5 2/3 scoreless innings this month. Still, he’s behind both Beeks and Lawrence in line for saves. Rotoworld Today, 9:57 pm
    • Excellent in no-decision
Weathers did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Tigers, allowing just three hits in eight scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Weathers was excellent Tuesday as he held the Tigers to one hit while facing the minimum through his first six innings. However, Miami couldn't break through on offense until the 10th, leaving Weathers with a no-decision in an eventual 1-0 Marlins victory. The 24-year-old southpaw has now delivered three straight quality starts, though he still hasn't earned a win since April 16. Overall, Weathers is 2-4 with a 3.81 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across nine starts (49.2 innings) this season. His next outing is currently lined up for early next week at home against the Brewers. Rotowire.com Today, 8:36 pm

    • Back in minors
The Nationals returned Rutledge to Triple-A Rochester after Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Advice: Rutledge pitched one inning during the nightcap in what was his season debut, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out one batter. He holds a 6.33 ERA and 1.63 WHIP through 27 innings across seven starts in the minors, and he would likely need to show significant improvement before he draws consideration for an extended stint in the big leagues. • Joe Ross strikes out six in win over Pirates
Joe Ross allowed two earned runs and two hits over five innings while picking up the win on Tuesday against the Pirates.

Advice: Ross was solid in this one, allowing just two hits while walking just one batter. His six strikeouts marked the third time on the year in which he struck out five or more batters, as the veteran righty was in control for much of the afternoon. He did give up a two-run homer to Nick Gonzales in the fourth inning, but bounced back to retire the next four batters he faced before being pulled. Ross picked up his second win of the season in this one, and will look to notch his third in his next start which is scheduled for Monday against the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 7:15 pm

    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Giants recalled Luciano from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Advice: Luciano has spent the entire season with Sacramento so far, slashing .266/.399/.344 with 20 RBI across 158 plate appearances. He'll come up from the minors to give San Francisco additional infield depth, taking the roster spot of Patrick Bailey (concussion). Rotowire.com Today, 6:45 pm
